And now….everything, every idea, every plan to somewhat alleviate congestion either has astronomical costs associated with construction or will cost commuters money right from their pockets. Any expansion will be met with protest.

Wild. I actually remember my family taking us to some riverside beach in this specific area in the early- or mid-00's (likely to try out fishing there), so this very park was probably that place.

Few will be surprised that during the 1960s in Southern California, high school age males often combated the cold, cold winters in jeans, t-shirts and a Pendleton. In violation of dress codes; Pendletons were a shirt that could be worn unbuttoned and not "tucked in" since they also served as a lightweight jacket.

I really liked this story. Today and all through history are little stories like this. Not about the same subject of course. I wish there was a way that nice short interesting stories like this appeared in front of my a lot. True stories of someone or of something that occurred. I really enjoyed this.

How cool it must have been. Thanks for the info. Strange how the environmental land thieves don't mind putting up eyesores of turbines all over land in the Columbia Gorge. Strange values indeed.

no clue 23 yrs in mcminnville seen only photographs of pieces of it on roads. i did manage to meet mr smith while doing some work on his fabulous home. literally not one sign in town promoting the iconic plane if you didnt know better youd think every one horse town has a spruce goose but city of mcminnville holds the only stinking rotting grape on the planet

ive ridden the amtrak cascades with the talgo pendoliner. tilting the train is really the best way to go. the variance is maybe 10* at most and you dont feel it. you have to look out the window and see the trees falling away to recognise the tilt.

if you were inclined to invest, you cant buy stock in BNSF. its part of Berkshire Hathaway. youd have to buy BH part B as a whole, which includes BNSF. basically, uncle warren owns it all and wont share.

I remember seeing the train when it came to my city but because of work commitments didn't get to take in the tour but like I said I got to walk right up to the engine and cars. That was good enough for just to see the engine. To do something like this for 250yr anniversary some corporations would want to take over and screw it all up. The 70s were different and the people had more respect for each other and greed wasn't as rampant as it is now including politicians.

I grew up a stones throw from where Howard Hughes had that thing stored. When i was a 7 year old child my older brothers would tell me "over in that harbor is a giant warehouse housing the worlds largest airplane and no one is allowed to see it" and i just though to myself what a travesty amd act of evil that a bunch of old farts would deny the public from viewing it.

I'm happy they saved the Spruce Goose, to all those that managed the feat great job and thank you for saving a wonder of aviation....but god am I pissed that Evergreen didn't just build something along the coast. The stupidity of moving a seaplane inland....

Was gonna watch, but anyone that chooses to use the satanic Pan Am owner's and the government dip sh💩ts name for Howard Hughes' Hercules air craft, I just dislike those dips videos. The name of Howard's revolutionary designed and built aircraft IS THE HERCULES not that gov/pan am monopoly name, call it the name the inventor and designer named it. Respect Mr Hughes not the evil feces that most likely killed him.

I feel like modulex could make a return. Most architects, because there are a lot more architects these days, design houses, where in the old days those were built in a vernecular way (without a professional design). Houses, no matter what style they are designed in, naturally call for straight angles, because people want to optimize their living space for space and furniture. There is also somewhat of a revival of pre-modernist architecture going on, at least that is what I see with some new buildings in my area. Adult lego is also much more popular than it used to be, and I can see modulex being a fun toy for hobby architects. I'm afraid the Lego company is too conservative to do that though, but if they did, maybe they should call it mini-lego. Would be nice if instead of buying it in prearranged boxes, you buy it online in a custom way, with the colors and textures you want. And yes, it should have textures, because texture is a very important part of architecture that doesn't seem to be represented in the old Modulex, things like brick, stone and wood patterns.

I visited the Spruce Goose on its "birthday" party one year inside the geodesic dome in long Beach. The plane is a tremendous thrill to behold! They had an auto show and all things 1940's including a quartet called the Step Sists" (a recall of the Andrew Sisters, popular in the 40's). If the current owners in McMinville were to have a "birthday" party and sponsor a car show and 1940's music I would drop everything and go with all of my friends!!

43:51 “Should private properties be allowed to damage the natural ecosystem that made the area so beautiful?’….No, of course not! A private, Oregon citizen on their own land, shouldn’t just be allowed to do what they want in their own property. It should only be allowed by corporations and big governements with the power to completely obliterate the area with polution, tree dozing, damn building, rerouting rivers land restructuring achres and miles of land, and stripping every private property owner of their rights and land. Now THAT’S responsible….it astonishing how gulible and manipulative we are….Like Sharon’s husband says, they’re excellent at taking your land and making it sound like a good thing. Just goes to show that the Parks’s family must’ve been very good people. If they weren’t they’d be multibillionairs and be part of this demonic system we have today. If you refuse to play their games, you lose everything. Good thing our rewards aren’t of this world. They’re in Heaven.

This is very cool. We live east of Salem so we always go to Lincoln City. We’re headed there in a few days. This town with the busy shops along the road, looks very much the same today! I recognized it. Names of towns seem to have changed so I thought this was much farther north, along the Portland’s end of beach (when we lived in Portland we always went to Seaside, much closer to Astoria). This is so cool..

My car, 55 Olds 88, broke down in Eugene, in 1976. I had it fixed at a local radiator shop, owned by Wayne Gardner. He was also a river guide, who, in 1969, was featured in NG mag, taking the NG writer/photographer floating from Oakridge to Corvallis on his drift boat, showcasing how the Willamette River had been cleaned up. I ended up relocating to Eugene, and have enjoyed the local rivers, now, for almost 50 years! Mud runs, a foot deep, along bridal paths at Elijiah Bristow SP! Only been back to NJ once, since then.

TRANS Florida Airways Daytona international Airport bought the Hughes Tool Company Convair 240. It was Howards Corporate jet in the age of propeller driven aircraft. It had less than 300 hrs total time. All wiring in the aircraft was Aluminum. TFA removed and replaced all the wiring and that's as far as it got. In 1999 I tried brokering a deal with evergreen pitching the idea to house both aircraft in their museum together with the Convair 240 under the Hercules wing. It didn't work out. I have no idea what happen to that Convair 240 that sat outside Dayonta Int'l airport's control tower for many years. This was one of the last family owned Aviation companies from the 40-50's that was grandfathered by the FAA. This family donated owned land to Embry Riddle University for their campus in Daytona Beach where they sit today.

AFT #1 locomotive (Reading 2101) has been outside at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore for years. She was recently rolled back for restoration. GREAT museum with PLENTY of historic locomotives in three huge buildings, plus more outside. That place is chock-a-block stuffed with locomotives, so don’t expect to see just 20 or 30.

I was a supporter for the monorail specially the line going from Ballard to West Seattle. This line would have cut the rush hour traffic, bottle neck from the west Seattle bridge and the merging onto I-5. As well as giving more options for those who live in Ballard and cut down the traffic to 15th Ave nw.

The geo metric dome? Simply unbolt 3 1/4 of that whole structure and it’s safe. I do enjoy the drama that your writing for the narration brings to such a film. Edit- Why talk spaghetti about the locks as if it was its actual footprint. You are such a dribbler with this False Information. Any measure by your idiocy calculations would have that barge be less than the clay that is coming out those moon rocks via your anus. Loser. Be better. Edit- Unsubscribed and disliked.
