OST: GR1, listen to every single song, GR2 has some good ones but way more generic Gameplay: GR1 is tighter due to level designs, bosses are cringe in both, very similar gameplay Upgrade System: GR2 is way overbloated, collectibles in a fast Action runner ... yikes Story: pretty meh in both, maybe a bit better in 2

In my eyes Ghostrunner 1 was made solely for the purpose to eat off from the hype of long awaited Cyberpunk2077, on the other hand Ghostrunner 2 is what the devs did with the money they made cuz of Ghostrunner 1 and made a good game.

Wish this was mentioned more in the dialogue section, but I'm gonna say this as someone who liked listening to the story play out in the first game: The first game had much better dialogue and a good chunk of its humor in the interactions just came from the complete contrast in personalities from the trio: Zoey, the optimistic survivor. The Architect, who couldn't care less about anything unrelated to his and Jack's mission, and won't hesitate to show it and how naive he thinks Zoey is. And Jack, someone just trying to get his personal revenge mission done whilst listening to the two. Zoey's emotional goodbye in Ghostrunner1 immediately being followed by The Architect dryly telling Jack that "she won't last a day," was probably one of my favorite interactions.

Here is what i will say. GR1 is harder, and looks a bit better style-wise i think. But after playing both games recently, and even starting to do the hardcore mode on GR2 (got through most of it) i honestly think GR2 is better overall minus the bike segments. The bike wasnt done super well and honestly it isnt where the game is best. The bossfights are a straight upgrade from the first one in my opinion, and in traversal, largely connected to level design, the game feels like it has better flow. The upgrade system of GR1 was a bit more fun and required a bit more thought, so i guess thats a plus one for GR1. Also the story of GR2, for what it is, i thought was a bit more interesting slightly less stupid tbh (though both are kinda thin).

I recently completed the second game for the first time and I honestly think the first one was better gameplay wise. However, I did really like the new abilities and mechanics in the second game too. The second game was way better with the boss fights since in the first game it felt like every fight took the same concept of the last one with just a slight difference being added. The second game made you feel like you were actually fighting them rather than just doing some parkour, attacking, doing parkour, attacking, and so on and so forth. I think they're both good and I enjoyed the second game more than the first one, but the first one will always be a great game regardless of how many times I play it.

I like both games pretty equally. There are some things that I think 1 did better than 2 and 2 did better than one, so my enjoyment is pretty balanced between both ghostrunner games. Making the third one open world, though, will kill the entire substance of the series.

As someone who platinumed ghostrunner 1 and beat every level without a single death, not on the first try obviously, I'm excited to play ghostrunner 2 to say the least. One thing I don't like about Ghostrunner 2 is unlike Ghostrunner 1, it looks less linear.

Gr2 in my opinion, it feels more inviting to ppl who haven’t played the first one. I started with gr2 and thought it was great, the story was pretty good, and gameplay felt pretty balanced and fair. But as I moved to gr1 after, I felt that it was unnecessary frustrating sometimes

As a person who played GR1 like 5 times while playing GR2 only once, I remember the soundtrack of the second game much more. Of GR1 the most memorable for me are Air, Infiltrator, Vendetta and the Orb. While for GR2 I feel like I remember many more, such as Loading, Mind as Universe, The Temple, God Run, Road Zero, but also tracks like Carrion Radiance and Discontinued. I don't think either was better than the other, they are just different. While in GR1 you had tracks that felt pressuring and almost alien in some areas, due to the keymaster being a threat, in GR2 you have more controlled and rhythmed music, except for in action scenes, feeling like you are just in more control and I think that is fine that way. I love both soundtracks and games but what's also fair to say is that GR2 was a lot longer than GR1 and it also had a few more tracks than the first game. It's all a matter of view and preference, wouldn't call either better than the other however

I feel like when he is returning in EP1 he wants to wake Gordon to different time for his purpose. But Vorts interrupt that and return Gordon back in the same time after citadel exploded. Thus why it went wonky and he neded in rubble.

I liked both of them a lot, doing similar things but differently. But I'm gonna pick GR 2 just because lack of walking landmines (aka. Creeps or whatever those things were). Except for one motorcycle quest where you can shoot them.

In the second game you are not running, or at least you don't feel the stakes of the story. Levels feel like a checkbox honestly. I never got into gr2 power up system, game is much easier compared to the first so i never even felt the need to open the tab. Kira is just an annoying charachter that just does not know when to shut up, she always has a cringe joke and she has to comment on every single thing that happen (she does not help in feeling the stakes of the story, she always say something that kills the mood). OW levels are just plain and boring and the wingsuit was a cool feature but not well exploited. The hubs are just not well designed and facial animation are too unpleasant. First game was simple and straightforward, it was well defined in it's genre and they know wich audience was gonna play the game, this one feels too random and it seems like someone tried to change what the developers wanted to do. In my opinion GR2 it is simply not worth the 60 euros that i paid but it is still a decent game. I hope they never make an open world ghostrunner game because it's just not compatible with this kind of playstyle

I'll summarize my take like this: I play GR1 for the gameplay and speedrunning I played GR2 for the story and I can't wait where they take it next, if said "next" ever comes. Both are great for different reasons. I play them both the same way, not using block or ultimates in GR2, so it doesn't matter to me. I just wish the bike would stop adhering to the terrain every 5 minutes.

I've always seen the episode 1 cutscene as a rewrite of hl2's ending, as in, the original ending isn't canon and is instead replaced by what happens in episode 1. The original ending showing what would've happened if the vortigaunts didn't help Gordon

tbh I think HL just having a general writting problem especialy with Gman. To this day we have no idea what are his intentions and how are the people he hire are valuble to him and his employers. Like the HL lore doesn't really make too much sense if we think about it.

@@ForeChin99 I really liked the vagueness when I first played HL2 back around 2012 but as the years passed over it started to remind me to a JJ Abrams mystery box and that guy just sucks at making actual mysteries or atleast he sucks at conclude them. It doesn't help that there is a video from years ago where Abrams talks with GabeN about an HL/Portal movie.

bruh doesn't understand the nature of how gman works...he exists throughout time simultaneously. him exiting one door and entering from another doesn't mean one second passed for him, he could have been doing stuff for years from his perspective and then he walks back into where he expects you to be to retrieve gordon.

The void that the gman put you in is outside time it self. When you finish half life 1 he leaves you in the void and only come back after 20 years, but in gordon eyes, it was like a second has passed after the black mesa incident. In half life 2 ep 1 when he come back it look like he was going to give another speech or oder for you, until he notice the vorigaunts. Its not clear how long gordon was in the void between half life 2 and ep 1 (maybe 2 days like alyx say), but again its was just a sec on gordon's eyes. But for sure the vorigaunts changed everything after Ep 1, who knows what could have been if there was no interference. Maybe he would trow gordon into te Borialis, skipping both episodes. 🤔
