I really want to know why they had to censor harmless text and signs that are in English. I "get" needing to censor Japanese text to not confuse kids. It is like they are required to have a certain quota of changes done even if said changes are fundamentally pointless. The only censorship they should have worried about was "Americanizing" stuff and removing references, depictions, and lines relating to adult/mature topics. What is more confusing is that what is or isn't censored feels arbitrary most of time. The only thing they successfully did was trick those watching Yu-Gi-Oh! into thinking the Shadow Realm was an actual thing in the original show. Nope! Just a creative way to censor anything involving killing.
