I had distal femur traction about a month ago. It was absolutely medieval. They applied Lidocaine, which hurt a lot in itself. But when someone drills through your leg, its something you don't forget! I certainly made some noise! No offense to the doctors who took care of me, and I'm recovering well, but my God, that's something you don't forget! I had snapped the head off of my femur in a mountain bike crash, and I think at a lesser clinic, they would have just given me an artificial hip-- with the prospect of having that replaced in roughly 25 years.

How can you fix it if the blood supply to the femoral head has been interfered with or cut off.. isnt there some type of way to establish blow supply to the femoral head and make total hip replacement surgery unnecessary.? This just doesn't make any sense that doctors in the year 2024/25 cant re establish blood supply to the femoral head and save a person from getting their hip replaced or their shoulder replaced, which i went through shoulder replacement and it is painful for weeks and months recovery is brutal and i feel terrible fot people that go through a hip replacement..it's got to be worse then a shoulder replacement... but wouldn't it .make more sense to figure out how to simply re establish blood flow to the femoral head and avoid the joint replacement altogether? Any information is welcomed..please comment...

Today is 4 weeks since I fractured my patella. Ortho said this is a serious injury. I am lucky, so far it is a stable brake. I pray I am healing, great explanation. Hoping I don’t need surgery.
