In about 3 hours I am having my right leg amputated below the knee. I never heard it put it this way but it is because of the "Damn nuisance" reason. 8 years ago I shattered my leg. 8 surgeries, 2 failed fusions and now diagnosed with CRPS type 1 (RSD1). I am done.

I'm an amputee and it depends on the patient. If my doctors would've said that to me, I would've transferred to another hospital on the spot. Telling me it was an amputation, and that I would get to walk with a prosthetic leg was the best course of action for me

I liked your video, but I encourage you to discuss your view on stump length with a prosthetist. Dan Strzempka (popularized by Winter the dolphin) does a lot of work speaking to surgeons to try and get them to understand that a longer limb does not necessarily create a better life for the patient due to complications in creating useful prosthetic devices for them.

With provisional and definitive types of amputation, what separates them from each other, what category of difference do they belong to? In the way that below and above knee amputation are anatomical types.
