Played this as a "twin-solo standup" Treble and Bass Trombone - with a modified Bass part - i.e. that included more of the melody (one full octave lower) as well as the bass - that included some members of Stalybridge Brass Band, at West Hill School in 1985. In the band circles, we were instrumental (pardon the pun) in re-popularising the arrangement at the time. Went down a hoot (pardon the pun). It's so easy to get carried away with the change in tempo, when in the spotlight. Our modified version maintained the tempo due to the twin-solo setup. 🙂

I've collected flugelhorns in C, C, Eb, and Bb, all good players, which are right now being restored. When the work is done I hope to hear four players play brass quartets on them.

Fantastic. Will always be Johnny Briggs to me. But I thoroughly enjoyed that. I'd applaud the soloist, but she wouldn't hear me, and I'd drop my phone.. 😁

Some good sounds from the development band , we also put ours in concert and competition , the juniors like the challenge and the wee trombone players are playing better now we got rid of the dreadful P Bones ....awful things .

Great to see , well from what i could see , NO empty seats , makes all the difference when you get a full house . Well played band , nice lower section although as a Euph/Bari player i'm biased ...well played all .

Wow there it is, I've only seen one of these before with all three valves crookless. My Wohlrab is only with the 2nd valve crookless. Super rare, thanks for sharing!
