Miriam, I am a 65 year old man, a Jew, an Israeli since making a far too late Aliyah in 2012. I can't stomach listening to sanctimonious bearded penguins who think they're rabbis or worse, actually are. But you? My goodness, a fucking breath of fresh air and if you ask me, Judaism could use a lot more women explicating Talmud. I really look forward to hearing your take. Something huge resonates. So, thanks! ❤❤❤
@MiriamAnzovin3 күн бұрын
Thank you for this comment - I entirely agree that the more different voices we have in Talmud learning, the better! All my favorite Talmud teachers are women, and I think Judaism is better off when all of us - not just SOME of us with beards - have a way to be heard!

What is permanent, impermanent and regrowable? Only outer physical socially defined beauty is what fades...natural beauty, like nature, is perennial and grows back. Like the luscious locks of a nazir (?) until the looks fade away and only true beauty remains? So...priorities? Stunning conclusion! 😮

the throwing of hairs and nails on the snake is probably based on some other parts of talmud (like niddah 17), if not the nail-superstitions common in many other cultures like Naglfar. The same origin is behind the nail reflection observation during shabat havdala i guess? Also, see Breyshis raba 20, pirkey de rabi Eliezer 14, and targum Yonoson on breyshis 3.

From what I can find, you could use honey to stop decomposition, but only after drying the body. So, if the woman were mummified, including removal of the organs, the body could possibly be submerged in honey as a method of storage. But I think it is importance to note that just because you CAN do something, it is not imply that you SHOULD do it.
Although it is commonly depicted as you have on your merch, such depiction of the Hamsa is really upside-down. The Hamsa is not a hand with two thumbs, it is a lily blossom.

You don't need a separate book to understand the bible. You just need to read the bible with a good heart (truly seeking the Lord wanting to learn HIS ways), and He will give you HIS understanding. We can't follow man's word, man's interpretation, or man's traditions. Our faith has to rest on God, not on the word of man.
@MiriamAnzovin11 күн бұрын
Do you read the Bible in Hebrew?
@lightinthedarkness694911 күн бұрын
@MiriamAnzovin I have a bible with Hebrew and Greek dictionaries so I can know what the words meant back then at that time since language changes over time. But just to clarify, that's translation not interpretation. Edit: also, if you read the Bible with a good heart and God gives you His understanding then if you're reading one that was interpreted wrong it won't matter. God's got your back. 😁 But you can't seek God by reading some other book. You have to read HIS book. Seeking God means reading the word.

🐘🍎🪵⚱! The vagaries of assigning meaning to coincidences when one believes there ARE no coincidences! I've only realized only very recently how much more pleasant and delicious figs are to dates, overall if I had to choose, and luscious pears to generally tough apples (that only make sense if you're having it as pie or cider!)! I think part of the moral, if any, is to consider transformation/transubstantiation/insert religious phenomena as it pertains to learning and takeaway and retention/digestion of information to knowledge to wisdom and not be an elephant of learning where one simply poops out (and all over) the subject whole without retaining its essence? Did this predict....me (in not seeking to understand first and foremost before giving an opinion)? Then again, the elephant figures into philosophy once again when it encounters the five blind men! Is Jonah and the Whale part of Jewish lore? 🐋📜

This is my all-time favorite of the Jewish Lore reactions series, and I am thrilled to pieces to discover a figure of lore that I knew NOTHING about! This 'swasawesome! (1) Good Omens TV Serial got it wrong. Demons do have jobs in Heaven and they commute like everyone else on temporary Earth assignment. (2) Bad Angels and Demons are NOT the same at all. (3) Ashmedai has legitimate complaints about how Jewish aggadah always has some fleshy bag of mostly water put one over on him. Remember when Benayahu gave him alcohol poisoning to steal a tool that humans were never meant to have? Yeah, he does have a legitimate claim to the throne. Preach it! (4) Okay, the bodily autonomy and consent thing about King David and his natural son, Ashmedai... payback is a &^$#&, man. Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon. Tizki l'mitzvot: you MADE my month. The Band of Destroying Angels remind me of the Furies in Kate McMullen's Myth-O-Mania, who turn out to be a supportive trio of Styx girls in stiletto heels and leather jackets, as long as you resolve your drama with your mother before they have to break out the steel-tipped whips.

This I think may be my finest non-daf work (perhaps overall best, too!) I’m SO glad you enjoyed it and you’ve noticed the discrepancies in pop culture representations! Although, I don’t fault Good Omens :) it has many excellent other qualities! it’s not really representative of the Jewish views; but that’s why I had to make this series with our tales! Ashmodai is such a baller. Agrat is also such an icon. Wait till you meet Ashmodai’s daughter in the next episode - I’m looking forward to telling this particular tale for many, many reasons :) thank you for this amazing comment and compliments on this video - truly this series is a labor of love.

What's your take psalm 51 speaking of Bath Sheba ? David said he did so God would justified in his sayings. Idk I guess I'm a mystic but I like looking into the deeper side of the text. There's a message there waiting fir us to uncover.
@MiriamAnzovin14 күн бұрын
I read a very guilty conscience. The message to uncover is “don’t force women who are married to other people to have sex with you, and then certainly don’t murder their husbands.”
@realadamhouse14 күн бұрын
@MiriamAnzovin awe come on quit thinking with your stuff and think with your spirit. What did he mean? What did Nathan mean by his proverb? I'm spitballing here but I have toyed with the thought of Uriel being sired of this. "God is my light" hence the name Uriel now compare Uriah which means My God is light. He was on the house top to when he saw her but that's whole other subject. U know about that crown? I never even hear ppl talk about it. Sure is discouraging but anyways. David rocks cause he's a man after gods own heart so he gets a pass. BTW he did try to get Uriah to go home but uriah tried to be over zealous and said it was beneath him.
