The thing that surprises me most now that I know the history of Tekken a bit more is that the Death of Heihatchi is not only temporary but relatively short and on top of that he seems to have taken very little relative damage for you know...being tossed in a Volcano and apparently gravely injured but recovered. Bison at least LOOKS like he's had to recover from a serious illness and has memory problems to boot.

Lulck there's a lot more easter eggs, for example, one of them is that you can meet Daigo as an NPC that you can fight, (he's not that strong, around lvl 3-4)

I understand your point but at the same time did you really give af about the story? Its a fighting game and they’re usually (nowadays) carried by its online community and because of that mfs are gonna comeback as dlc or in the next installment

He was my absolute favorite. His randomness was his greatest strength. I won so many matches with him. Once you understand the ghosts, it's really hard for a player to adapt to your changing moveset on a dime. Damn I miss playing as him. Ever since Zappa, I've leaned into puppet characters, but not a one has ever been as satisfying to play.

In the beginning, Heihachi threw Kazuya off the cliff. Then Kazuya got his revenge and threw Heihachi off a cliff. Then Heihachi came back and threw Kazuya into an active volcano... And when Kazuya lived, Heihachi "died" from an explosion... then when he came back, the two kept fighting for power until Jin, Kazuya's bastard son, won... Jin messed up, Kazuya takes power again and defeats heihachi in an active volcano. Heihachi came back. Of course he came back. This is the dumb back and forth that has been happening before Tekken 1. No surprise. All the hype. Just keep fighting. It's hilarious.

Tekken 3,4, and 5 did things right. 4 at least has a reason to bring Kazuya back and his resurrection went somewhere. Now it’s like bro don’t bother killing them off.

While I do love RE1 in his entirety, I am among the people who would love the STARS to be reimagined from the ground up. My personal take would be a special taskforce created by the RPD to investigate the murders AND to rescue the missing hikers (I prefer the original plothook of the STARS being looking to hikers after the dead body was found down the river instead of them going to the mountain looking for some cult introduced later on). In my take, the STARS would be composed of police officers (Jill, Wesker, Forest, Joseph) AND mountain rescuers (Chris, Barry, Rebecca, Brad) forced to cooperate despite their differences (Chris would still be the ex-military with authority issues, and Jill would be his ex ~kinda like Stalone and Turner in Cliffhanger : forced to work together despite their history). And I would ditch all the hardly believable aspects of the characters (Jill being some Delta Force veteran at 23 years old, Chris' attitude problem wouldn't be a problem in a civil job, Rebecca being hired in some elite police team despite her being freshly out of college with barely any training...). In other words, I agree that STARS are an important aspect of the original game BUT I think their whole concept could be reimagined for the better. The original STARS with their weird equipment choices and color coded outfits shows too much how Capcom was unfamiliar with out actual police officers were supposed to look like or operate.

Its goes to show whose an actual fan of fighters and who isnt. Dlc or expansion charaters can be dead and still show up

Fighting game deaths only mean something if the character wasn't as much of a staple like say Nash, Gen or Necalli

I never really liked street fighter i played sf 2 once or twice one time on a arcade at a Walmart the second time was on switch the one that looked the most interesting to me was third strike unfortunately i lost all my consoles this year so i didn't get a chance to buy it i have only ever liked the odd street fighter characters i like twelve i like juri han i like poison i like gill i like seth and female seth and i like akuma but if i ever get consoles again i will be happy to buy third strike and street fighter 6 also i hope twelve comes back and better than ever

Tekken story peaked at 4 or 5 for me like seriously when it comes to 7 the best parts were akuma vs heihachi and Kazuya and Kazuya vs heihachi now it's just a cool fight 😑

I always hated it when people say "it's just a fighting game! the story doesn't matter!" All you do in first-person shooters is pick up a gun, aim that gun, crouch, Crouch lower, throw grenades and kill targets. Yet one of my favorite story campaigns is from Call of Duty Black Ops 1. The last good one they did in a very long time other than Black Ops 2. I barely played Halo and my childhood yet I know a lot about the Lore, because there's so much of it the people actually write novels about it. And people always give games like BlazBlue and Guilty Gear crap for having dense backstories and lore. But I love those games for that, because at least they made an effort with their story. At least they cared!😅 but I'm a casual player of fighting games so I'm not the intended audience, I guess...

I just want to add something with Bison To be honest, i feel like Capcom in general is pretty bad with this kind of stuff. Just look at Zero in Mega Man X. If i remember right, he died in X5 just to come back like nothing happened in X6

Death in fighting games DOES matter, the problem is that SF and Tekken just don't give a damn about it. Just look at Mortal Kombat. Liu Kang got killed at the beginning of MKDA and we got all of MKDA without him and he only came back in MKD as a zombie. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi both got killed in MKD, they weren't playable in that game and only came back in MKA. Then both Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn got killed in MK9, they both skipped MKX and only came back in MK11. And Quan Chi got killed in MKX, skipped MK11 and now just recently came back in MK1. So while MK chars do come back, at the very least they wait a whole full game before they come back in order to make sure that their death would still mean something for the overall plot. SF and Tekken don't care. Bison got killed in SF5 and came back in SF6 after just one season, and Heihachi didn't even wait one season and is already back after Tekken 7, after both IP's made a huge deal from both getting killed, just for them to come back THIS quick, unlike MK which allows their chars to remain dead for at least one game so that the impact will be felt. So yes, death in fighting games DOES matter, it's just that it doesn't matter in SF and Tekken, or at least doesn't matter for Bison and the Mishimas, just because Capcom and Bamco don't wanna take chances with their IP's, unlike NRS/WB with MK.

Now I know we have to wait until the thrown into the lava but somehow he's magically alive old man elephant of the room is playable but this is just ridiculous that namco just pulled a capcom and just brought back a villain who was only gone for one game. Like seriously what was the point of tekken 7's ending and what was the point of Ryu finally offing Bison? Especially if the devs are just gonna bring these characters back one game later despite the fact that they're supposed to be dead. This is why I much preferred how arc system works for the guilty gear games and how SNK did the King of fighters games did when it came to dead characters because at least with those there was a reason for why the character stayed dead and when they did come back it was either through a prequel story or an abridged version of the game events of a previous title or a Magic mcguffin that's in the story that brings those characters back but not before a massive long wait time period in universe. Here it completely just feels like that the only reason why these 2 characters came back immediately it's because of member berries and bending over backwards for all of the fans that really really want these dead characters back regardless of whether or not it completely destroys the storyline for both titles. If that's the case then they really should have went the fatal fury route and just made M. Bison and Heihachi nightmare versions that were non cannon because it makes everything from SF5 and T7 COMPLETELY pointless. I am glad that more people are starting to understand that this is a very very scummy business decision just to keep the brand the same and keep the status quo.

After seeing the trailer again, I do think that this is a flashback after Tekken 2, because why is his hair not grey in the volcano shot and his actual render is the old Heihachi with a few scars on his chest. I believe this "new" Heihachi is Lidia's master or whoever that old guy is with the tiger mask. But Heihachi is also a skin like Eddie and Christie, Xiao and Miharo in Tekken 4 back then. Kinda like a what if he did survive model like what NRS did with MKX revenant characters, they made up old looks for the cast that were never canon in the story.

I would be ok with it if they just added the characters as just playable but not involved in the story it’s the fact that they are involved in the story that I have an issue with
