@@dsb7825 I'm not exactly sure of the size, but it's nearly the same length as the RTT. It's attached to the RTT sides in the channels. I will tell ya, this setup sure has been wonderful!

@@kathrynzendner9929 I think I got in 10 or 11 runs this year. I love #3 due to hauling my huge kayak with gear. The cabin is small, but big enough for me and my gear. But being that close to the slip with 400+ lbs of kayak and gear is pretty important. I'm getting old..lol. Hope to see ya there next season. If ya see me, please say hi!

It was nice to see you appreciate the Subaru all wheel drive and handling! I used to work jobs in the middle of nowhere doing house calls driving an Impreza. With that sedan, I navigated blizzards on mountain passes at night. Never missed a day of work, no matter the weather. I upgraded to the Crosstrek Wilderness and it does the job even more capably.

Unfortunately with the roof tent your gas mileage is not going to get any better, even with just the cross bars your gas mileage is affected, but when you have fun and been happy , who cares right!! Nice ride, cool videos!!🇺🇸😎

@@davidgarmendia7252 agreed. This is one of the reasons I wanted a hard shell RTT. It's 6" thick. So the lower wind resistance with the lower MPG of the wilderness editions was the best combo I figured i could pull off. And your right. It's been soooo worth it.

Hence my longtime phrase of, "experience nature" Thank you for this comment. I often get dinged for videos being too long. But I truly believe you can't take an experience and cram it into a 5 min video. Gonna have a smile on my face today because someone got it!

It was the star child all season other than when I had to use the truck to haul the E bike as well as the kayak trailer. Other than that trip. It's all been done with the crosstrek Wilderness. And it's done an incredible job.

I did a video where I got a 3 piece full set put on. When you see how exposed the trans is, it will startle you. It did me. And given how I use mine, it's a must have. Guessing you saw that segment jumping up onto lava in the undiscovered country video.

So I have the same one took it out today for the first time and everything was thumping and hard to pedal it would go from smooth to thumping off and on.

@@fernandotejeda2238 One of the first things you should do is check drive chain tension of the pro drive. Many people don't know or understand how to adjust it, or how to adjust the blue lock lever. This leads to many issues that can be resolved very easy. I did a video on all of this. It's a LONG video, but it's from delivery to water ready on this exact kayak. With that said, if I can be of any help, please feel free to reach out to me. I've had mine for over a year now with no issues because I took the steps I needed to at the start, AND took the time to understand the mechanics of the entire system. Let me know if I can help. But from your brief description, to me it sounds like the drive chain tensioner needs to be slightly adjusted. I think that's in the manual as well as my video.

@@fernandotejeda2238 that is consistent with a chain tensioner that needs adjustment. Let me know if you need a link to that video. If you have torque up top from you, and drag from the prop, and a loose chain, the chain will just skip teeth over the prop end sprocket.

So sifting through my videos and shorts for the crosstrek wilderness content may be in order for ya. The neoprene flap I got in the parts department at my subaru dealership. It was in one of the brochures on the parts counter. The 3d paw protectors I have here for people that want them as I run into them. But you can download and print them too at prusa printables. You mentioned observing an entrance to a lava tube. Is this accessible? I have a NOAA archeological study planned that includes ROV sampling of Lava in a tube at 100 meters. If accessible, I could apply for a permit to study it.

@@stevehaggitt4403 these openings to the tubes are not large enough to enter even with my ROV. I've found at least 50 now throughout the lake. The only one that's currently growing in size that's noticeable, goes down several feet, then heads west, but it's still not large enough to enter. And it's east we need to look.

@@ryanhartzog2128 I have had no squeaking at all. The only noise I had, which was slight was just before I properly adjusted the tower clamp. Have you located where the sound is from? Perhaps that might point me in a direction.

@@ryanhartzog2128 Ahh, ok then. Remove the crank arms, apply a small bit of grease on the shaft the crank arms go on. Clean the crank arm bolts well, apply a drop or two of blue lock tight. Tighten the crank arm bolts down well and let sit. That's what I'd try given my years of working on bikes with the same crank style. Let me know if that works if you can.

@@Amberdogproductions I actually worked at a bike shop for 13 years haha. The sound is definitely coming from inside. Like just the belt rubbing inside. I reached out to 3 waters but I havnt hear anything back.

Loved the video! Couple of notes, I have the same ‘24 Wilderness and do about the same types of driving 20:21 , and I average 24mpg. Also, I thought I had the same rattle you mentioned at the top of the hill and it turned out to be the passenger seat buckle was turned one turn and was rattling against the seat…so maybe that was what you were hearing too? Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed your peaceful drive!

@@mattd1286 thank you!!!! In the end, what I have learned this season filming, is that this setup allows me to be vastly more free and way less stressed over time driving both ways. I'm also safer too. Driving 3 hrs, filming 12 hrs and then driving 3 hrs back is not the best idea. But that's what I've been doing until this season with this setup.

@@ladonawright5136 it's a very nice kayak. The company that makes it loved how I was using another kayak they make and sent me this pedal drive kayak to help with my filming and research. Having the pedal drive is a true blessing as it makes dealing with my camera rigs much more easy, and tons more usable footage. Having them reach out to me and send this out is an amazing experience, and I'm very thankful. I'm such a small channel too.

You forgot to mention that the carbon fibre face plate around the infotainment screen actually covers the DMS camera! Grr. I bought one because it does look great but now I'm torn between losing the many DMS features. Thoughts? Other than "don't drive drowsy" 😅 Because it does other things. Thanks for sharing your mods. I got gold knobs and waiting for my pinstriping

@@scottlaird1650 yes, from Amazon. The link to it is posted here in the comments too. And while I used different screws, they are the same thread pitch. I just wanted slightly longer ones because the stock ones didn't fully go through the stock screw lug. Knowing what I would be using this for, the longer screws made sence for me.

You can set a memory height to your hatch door so it automatically stops opening before it hits your roof items.
