Good evening Wes. Nice to see you doing another update. Wow. I have not seen that Dicks album since the eighties. That is a good album. They kind of reminded me of Dead Kennedys. <> I love those early Ventures album covers. Nothing like a whole album related to surfing. <> Nice to hear that you had a good time at St Pete's Pride and also your visit to Bananas. Excellent update Wes~ Rob/Boston

I’ve never seen those Audio Master Plus vinyl either, that looks awesome. I have some of the CDs. One of my goodwills have started pricing CDs at $3 if you can believe it. My dad’s in Atlanta now so don’t know how often I’ll get down to St Pete / Tampa again but I’d like to. I’ve seen that CJ & Co but never grabbed it, always seemed like the cover was better than the music but I might grab it if I see it cheap. I also got an OG Baltimore this year.
@SupraWes2 күн бұрын
It seems like most of the AM+ releases were CD releases. I believe it, many Goodwill's outside my area have CD's at $2. The CJ&Co cover is better than the music but the music is not bad. Cool that you found that Baltimore record, I didn't know about it before finding it.

I love Conan Gray's new album, too - one of my favorites of the year! He captured every aspect of '80s music, from the new-wave dance-pop to the Journey-esque power ballad. Unfortunately, though, I was underwhelmed with Taylor Swift's latest album. I wanted to like it, but just couldn't get into it even after three or four listens. The Firesign Theatre is definitely a weird subject for a MoFi release, let alone two of their albums. And definitely a great find at a thrift store! The Etta James comp and Dylan/The Band ones were also some great grabs. Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee" was an unexpectedly enjoyable album that I just happened upon used one day, very nice! And The Script is a good indie-rock band, kind-of like The Killers, though I've only kept their first album and a singles collection of theirs. Another great month of finds, Wes!

Wes! I've missed your videos, especially your CD finds! Lots of good stuff in this one. I've been following Bleachers for awhile now; my favorite album of theirs is "Strange Desire". I was a fan of Ben Lee for several years, but I've only kept a couple of his albums. Nice folky stuff, at least back in his early years. Nice to see you beefing up your Steely Dan collection! I inherited six of their albums from my late sister, and since they had only put out nine, I went ahead and rounded out the library on my own in memory of her, even though they've never been a big favorite. I've been on a James Horner kick lately, so it was nice to see "Avatar", one of his better scores. And that version of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a major coup! It's the only release that has the unedited versions of the Desert Chase music and a couple other cues. Nice grab on that Patsy Cline set, too! I had a 4-disc set of hers but it was maybe a bit too deep-dive for me. I've since found two of her original albums, and that's all the Patsy I need. And it's fun to see NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" in there - it'll always be one of my absolute favorites!
@SupraWes9 күн бұрын
Thank you, sorry I was not making videos for a while. I will try and give "Strange Desire" a stream in the next few weeks. One of my earliest vinyl pickups when I was just starting out was Aja by Steely Dan. Thanks for checking out my finds, have a great weekend.

@SupraWes9 күн бұрын
Sorry, I have had problems with copyright issues on my videos in the past. I really don't want to deal with having to mute or take down any of my videos so I don't plan on doing needle drops without permission from the artist and or labels.

Awesome video, just did the swap myself, it sucks the motor has gone up to 230, plus another 20 for the throttle kit and mower mount. I saved myself maybe 50 dollars from buying a new one. Not sure if it was worth the hassle. I had the Troy-bilt 21" push mower TB160 that is powered by Honda. I ended up not having a throttle cable on my mower so I purchased a kit on amazon. It was fairly easy, just cut the wire down, bent it, and zipped tied it on. Luckily I had a bolt in my shed that matched the throttle control that was extra from a TV mount.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the box! I was going to say sorry that some of the tray hubs got smashed, but it sounds like that's not a problem for you. :) I'm happy you apparently didn't have any (or many) of the CDs already! Teddy Thompson (that one's not a castoff, I love his stuff, rather it was a thrift-store find that I bought, knowing I'd find someone to gift it to soon enough) is the son of Richard & Linda Thompson, and I discovered him by way of Rufus Wainwright many years ago. I am sad that most of these artists and albums I just lost interest in, but I'm always happy to give them a new home to someone who might find the same appreciation I had for them years ago. Happy listening, Wes! :)

I have been meaning to do a video on sleeves since I have tried so many. My current favorite are these, amzn.to/3VkN4I1 however I have trouble recommending them at the current price at least on amazon, they may be more affordable elsewhere. I bought 500 a few years ago and the per unit price was around 23 cents. They will hold the tray card as well but you have to change where they fold slightly. The Tarifold sleeves look nice and are inexpensive but do not offer much protection and are not convenient to use if you want to look at the booklet or are pulling the disc in and out, Really there is no perfect sleeve that is also reasonably priced, the main reason I want to make a video is to point out some issues I have with the current offerings in hopes that someone would make a better sleeve. If you have questions about specific ones let me know and I can tell you if I have tried them or not.
