Specifically I am trying to understand what business credentials are needed if I were to have private pay clients only without working with an insurance company or broker.

Long distance is nice, but it depends on the health of the patient. We had a driver on Lyft with an older woman just taking a basic ride and she died on the ride. Lyft gave him $100 for the time that he had to deal with the police and the ambulance and the woman's family. Driving patients pays well (in the NEMT industry), but not for Uber and Lyft who try to use us to transport patients for pennies on the dollar while they stack the profits on our backs. I tell all driver in rideshare to decline those NEMT rides and let someone trained and PAID for NEMT to do those rides. We have NEMT transport companies for a reason.

@@MicDropBBQ This is why we love your content! It’s all about spreading awareness and you do just that. It’s unbelievable that all they offered was 100,000. I’m sure the driver was traumatized from that experience. We would love to have a panel discussion with UBER/Lyft drivers and NEMT providers. This would be a great conversation. Let’s try to make this happen.

Thank you for the feedback! Our advice to you is make sure you’re financially ready before starting your NEMT business. Carefully evaluate all potential startup costs and set aside reserves for unexpected emergencies.

So is the scope of a "trip" always curb to curb? Meaning your service starts and stops eith loading and unloading? For example, You wouldnt be taking a customer into a building or be responsible for them finding their appointments correct?

Yes, passengers can be charged for wait time in certain situations, especially if the driver has to wait beyond the scheduled pickup or drop-off time. It’s always a good idea to disclose this policy with your client at the time of scheduling to avoid surprises.

So this seems like a pretty simple process getting to the client and dropping them off. Are they required to be outside first or do you guys also do door-to-door?

I am doing ambulatory only but with a sedan . Lease owner operator but they don’t pay waiting time. And if customer cancel with you our text you that they not going to their appointment. I call company text them proof of text and they still won’t clear me from showing up for pickup to broker state customer has not called in to cancel.company is make money on that not the driver .And 90 percent of the trips our waiting min 2 hours before you can cancel. Trips pay okay but I know it could pay way more it’s all broker runs out of Ga. My Question is if I get contract direct due they pay waiting time. And cancellation.
