Well this doesn't work anymore, those properties don't exist

This may be what I need, but can/how do you attach it to a Null object (Null has an image, mask and shape object attached - a framed image that needs to drift upward, scale up for a few seconds then back down)? The Null's Anchor point gets "locked" in the top right corner. When I change the anchor point X value, it only moves downward even after I change vel to a negative value. Has the code changed since you made this video? Does this not work with Null objects? I'm using AE 24.6.1. This is for a corporate capabilities reel and I need some images to drift upward while audio plays. Please advise and thank you in advance.

Hey! This expression does work with null layers! If you are interested in a preset that I made for this and will make your life easier, you can email me at [email protected].

Great tutorial. I'm having a lot of fun watching and following along. I have a question. Are you able to generate text from the array of circles? For example, after generating 120 duplicates and transforming to animate, can the circles then generate a title of a video or name of a person?
@NoSleepCreative4 күн бұрын
Hmm, based on my understanding, that would seem more like a particle effect sort of solution or a usage of a third-party plugin and tool.

Expression gives an error in AE 2024. Is there a fix for this?
@NoSleepCreative25 күн бұрын
Hey, make sure your Expression Engine is set to Javascript. And you can copy and use the expression (tested and works in AE 2024) here: docs.nosleepcreative.com/after-effects/cookbook/algebraic#archimedes-spiral

The "Circle" effect can be used as a circle wipe. The effect lets you set it to stencil alpha. You can also make it a "donut" shape. This is super cool though! Definitely useful. Thanks for sharing!

😄Blog Time I have been wanting to publish a video for awhile now, but often, I'm caught between putting it off or overpreparing. Inspired by a discussion in a recent hiking trip with friends about goals before the year ended, I made a declaration to them that I would publish a tutorial by the end of July lol. And because I have to keep my word, I quickly put together this tutorial. I have to admit that making tutorials these days has been more challenging and slower than I used to do in the past due to a combination of factors such as having a full-time job, work-life balance, health issues, overthinking what to create, etc. But I hope I can make at least a video once a month, we will see ~ - Also! If you have suggestions on improving the preset or any technical issue, please leave a comment and I will do my best to respond and troubleshoot!

Hi Desmond, thank you for this video. I have just purchased your course on Domestika. Thanks for creating it. I have a question. Have you tried an app called Cavalry? Vector procedural based app where you can achieve this type of effects without coding? It is of course nowhere near as robust as AE, lacking compositing features, but I really enjoying it. BTW, it's good to see you back on YT. Cheers!

My sourcerecattime responded so strangely and I couldnt for the life of me figure how to add a little bit of manual inputs to the rectangle path that wouldn't destroy the whole code. I couldn't get it to work but its genius how you added the slider controls first to a null. fantastic, saved me so much time. thank you
