Lars… usually sounds like dog shit live , not in this performance. Kirk.. usually sounds like dog shit, not in this performance. Now….. James, his vocals live, usually sound like shit, not in this performance. James rythem guitar is even great in this performance. . Jason, is usually spot on as well, and this performance is no exception.. I have seen Metallica live 3 times.. 1993 in Reno, Nevada Lawlor Events Center. They played way too loud ( whenever they would start a song , I would have to do a double take, “ what song is this”. In 1997 same arena. Same thing …, way too loud and distorted . I saw them one last time in Sacramento in 1998, and that show was awesome, sounded great. Has a lot to do with the venue acoustics, I THINK..😂

This was my first mainstream concert. I saw this tour in Tampa in 1997. Even got kicked out of my house to go to this, as I was 17 and my mom didn't approve. To this day, one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

You know whats even more amazing about this song? These guys were in their lower 20s and came up with this. Everything about it is just brilliant. I get that their are talented people in this world but what these guys did, even more than just on this song, is just amazing. Amazing. Even before they had some big producer.

The solo starts so sneakily and then builds and builds and towards the end its become the centerpiece of the song. Kirk's written some great parts. I don't see how more theory or technique would benefit this song, it's perfect as is.
