All I did was bend over to pick something up, and my lower back went into an agonising spasm. That was 4 days ago and I'm still in pain.

It doesn’t sound like a painful name. They should change it to Incredible back pain or make up a new word for it like ‘SHITREALLYHURTS’ Bob Bitchin can not go today, before the game he came down with bad case of SHITREALLY HURTS! A spasm to me sounds like when a part of your body 3:47 vibrates , you know, your nerves bubble like a freak of nature . I just punch it and say- SHUT THE F UP!! Works for me. I especially love it when it’s in my temples!! I did it in a bank once on line. When I woke up the other people in line gave me an applause!! The Mets just won!!!!

This is a comedy routine. I was talking about telling myself to shut the F up. Can Meta take a joke .?? I once got banned for telling a joke about pushing yourself away from the table- you know pushaways😄 I used the three letter F word for obese. Another time for explaining a football team’s weak link. A slang word for Asians A slang word in their armor. Would you believe that!? Wars, mugging, killings and you ban me for that?? Can anyone read?? Really?? I post great music everyday to make the world a better place. Songs the radio does not play.

Really helpful- especially recognizing and acknowledging the pain stress cycle- I have gone to many people over the years- they say do this and do that which requires blind faith- when you explain it so well I am more likely to do it - like the 3 min hot cold which brings up a question - I am in a heating pad with a tens unit trying to unlock my sacroiliac….. how do you feel about heating pads?

It is extremely worrying to hear you say different physios will use very different treatment forms for the same issue. This is not the case with surgery for, say, a hip replacement, or conventional pharmaceutical treatment for cancer. The seemingly willy-nilly approach of complementary wellness treatment is what keeps me away from chiropractors in particular. Physios and their stupid stick-figure diagram instructions for patients that they give after a bit of manipulation is like “well.. I’ve done something to you with my hands now go away and it’s up to you to get better”. $$$$$$$ no care. AND ..different practitioners give different exercise instructions. Just look at all the different KZbin videos for rotator cuff injury, bursitis or lower back issues. 1,000s of different prescriptions from ‘physical therapists’. There seems to be no systematic and consistent prescriptive approach used by these practitioners that gives me the feeling that they implement a hard-science-backed approach. The last physio I saw concluded rotator-cuff injury without any scans and sent me away to return after a week (as she wasn’t back at that clinic until then) with no guidance on using/not using my arm and no management suggestions (I was too zonked by lack of sleep to ask. I was in pain and could not sleep at all. I then went to my GP who sent me for ultrasound (no rotator cuff issue nor bursitis), gave me strong anti-inflammatory medication, told me to rest and use heat packs and sleeping tablets. Thank god for him and conventional medicine! I’m sleeping now and slowly getting better. I get more satisfaction from lower-skilled masseurs that promise relaxation than physios that claim they can help chronic pain. Sorry. You can delete/block me, but I think my experience is more common than physios, chiros and osteopaths believe is the case. Only a % of patients return to these practitioners.

Most of my pain is in buttock but i think it's really coming from lower back/disc. From bending over and tying my shoes but its because i was using a chair that would cause my back to arch . Went to tie my shoes and my low back was very stiff i couldn't stand straight that whole day. Now my pain is in leg/calf and knee. Im just going to have to go to the doc office

Hi, thanks for sharing your story. Bootcamp is what you need - your muscles need rebalancing to stabilise your spine. Back spasms without an underlying cause means they are all confused and doing the wrong jobs. They need ‘reprograming’. You would benefit by seeing a manual therapist to break the spasm and get you out of bed, and then start stretching out with Bootcamp movements. Just so whichever ones you can. It sounds like your muscles need to move and stretch.

I pulled my back out at pt that I had knee surgery for. The pain was so unbearable I ended up in the chiropractor office be I am out of line. I was ok I thought but it came s is pure hell.back. I am on day 8. Going back today for the chiropractor. I went to my pcp for muscle relaxes. I go back on Monday to see if I am any better. He told me to take 2 ibuprofen and two extra string Tylenol 500 mg along with my medication relaxant. It’s helped but I am still not quite there yet.

Hi Coby, I've signed up to do your back pain boot camp. In week 3 my back went into spasm again, possibly from gardening. So I've stopped the boot camp. Once it's settled again I'll restart. My question is do I have to start from the beginning or go into week 3? Thanks.

Too much twisting of spine which would trigger muscle spasms for sure. Better to move closer to the edge of bed and then in one motion push off with arm while dropping legs off the bed. Also, I noticed if I focus on using my core and not back muscles during the movement, I avoid muscle spasm and pain.
