Shoot I remember in the military we were lucky to get a set that didn’t have crazy blems much less a good SNR. I remember the first set I was issued were green phosphorus with small to medium sized blems. We are spoiled today because not only can we purchase NVGs but we can pick what tubes we want if you have the money.

I see you’ve added some very high spec 40+ snr supergain tubes in the past week or so. These are some of the very best specced tubes I’ve seen anywhere 👍

I used to go out and have fun with my 33snr binos, but the internet told me they suck so now i just sit inside staring at a blank wall yelling at my fpn and my two zone 3 pepper spots. Someone talk me off this ledge.

Hand picked. As someone new to night vision, and just learning about specifications, what they mean, etc… I went down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, reading differing opinions, watching video after video. I invested a lot of time trying to learn before making a purchase with the hard earned money I’d been saving specifically for night vision. I finally settled on a vendor, Custom Night Vision, just based on the fact that what you see is what you get, no sneaky marketing schemes, no shit talking except for dinosaurs. Long story short but not really, they have nothing to hide. I purchased a hand picked option, talked to Kevin, he picked a tube, sent me pics and specs, and the rest is history. I did have an issue that was beyond CNS’s control and they took care of it immediately, no hassle or fuss. I have absolutely no regrets trusting Kevin to pick out a tube for me based on what I told him I’d be using it for. That being said, I use it quite frequently, learning as I go, and I’m confident that my next purchase I’ll be able to go down the list of tubes on CNV’s list and pick something that is exactly what I’m looking for. So…. If you are new, and have no idea where to start, reach out to these guys, you won’t regret it. Step 1: Look at tree. Focus objective (far from eyeball lens) to a tree. Step 2: Make tree very clear with diopter (close to your eyeball) lens. Step 3. Look at stars. Focus diopter on stars. This is infinity focus. That's it. You're done.

The diopter has NOTHING to do with your prescription. The diopter is only focusing your eye to the screen on the tube. Wild to see companies not know this

Maybe I’m retarded…. But can I not just wear my normal prescription glasses in conjunction with nods? For some reason it has never occurred to me that I’ve never seen someone using nods with their prescription glasses on 😂

My opinion on autofocus. One less mechanical thing to fail. Also imagine doing something critically important like taking a life or death shot and it decides to try and auto focus itself at that critical moment. That’s my best guess. I don’t mind manual focus at all. I just set to infinity and adjust on the go with my $70 Amazon iris. Was worth every penny. Aloha 🤙🏽

I recommend people to use the daylight filter cap, the cap with the tiny hole, over the objective lens so close range objects will be in focus and they can then change the diopter to match their eyesight and then they should take off the daylight filter and then change the focus ring to in close focus or infinity or anything in between.

Auto-Focus would be nice and I do honestly wonder why its not a thing?
