Great job dude! I really like the way you got the charcoal flaming hot. I didn't let mine fire up in the chimney as much. I let them go a little longer next time.

Haven’t rode in 30 years. Bought a 2004 at a really good price. Practicing all over again. Love the road king. It’s heavy but it’s all technique. Girls riding them that are 5 foot 4 All technique.

I got a 2018 Road King. Just did the Stage 1 so far but installed the Vance & Hines FP3 tuner on it. I downloaded a map and flashed it to the ECM. It did wonders for the bike. It really woke it up. It’s not sluggish like it was. I turned off the speed limiter and adjusted the throttle to be a bit more sensitive. Once it’s ready for the 100k-120K rebuild, I’ll be doing a Stage 2.

The production 2020 Road King weight is described as slightly under 800lbs online. But you can certainly add to that with accessories.

Old video, but I'll post> (FYI, change the sort by to newest, lots of great comments from the last month or so). One, a heavier bike is a safer bike in many ways. Road KING is actually the perfect LOCAL and short trip bike! If you are going out for an hour or two, you sure as hell will have a smile on your face the entire time!!! Something a little Honda 500cc can never give you! Even my 1100 vstar became sort of MAH after half year of riding. That is something a Road King will never be guilty of. I know exactly ZERO Road King riders who say they regret the bike. Met a little old dude (i'm getting to be a little old dude at 53, LOL) around 63 years old. He said he dropped the bike bringing it around back of his house the first day he got it. MANY years later, he still rides the Road King and Loves it. It's only the first few days you need to get use to the weight. After that, you will love the heavier bike. The video is your opinion of course, but for those who really want to consider a Road King? Go ask your local riders, dealers, friends. I doubt they'd agree with much of anything said here. NON RIDERS told me I should NOT get an 1100cc bike as my first bike. Guess what, I LOVED IT DAY ONE of riding, EVER. Completely new to riding at age 52! I spend the first day riding on gravel and grass slow riding an 620lbs bike! Didn't drop it once! Grass no less! I made it a point to get the feel of the weight and power control before I went on the road. Once you can handle off road, gravel, grass, pavement is no brainer, LOL. Anyway. POINT? Don't be an idiot! ANY BIKE, tiny or monster requires you understand what you are getting into. I think 250cc bikes are a joke for training. Unless, all you want to do is step up from you moped, it's pointless. Training should be done on 500-800 cc min. I think a vstar 1100cc or honda Rebel 1100 should be the standard bike for schools! ;) Too many idiots learn on a toy and kill themselves on a beast. Our laws suck IMHO. Who in the world do we allow testing on literally a scooter, and then you go out and buy a real bike? What a joke. We wonder why all these idiots keep killing themselves. Crotch rockets going 150mph ridden my brainless 20 somethings! It's not the RoadKing riders who do the stupid sh&t. You respect the King, or you kiss the pavement. LOL.

I have a road king 98 and a sportster. The sportster is so much easier to handle and is rather quick 1200. But the road king feels better in ways. Had a 1500 intruder and it was easier to handle but didn’t feel as good as the road king.

it's 800-820lbs! Not light! A little thin dude is going to have an issue I'd guess. That's still 200lbs more than my Vstar 1100! That's a BIG step up.

I thought your points were extremely vague and could be applied to any large bike or just personal preferences. I.E. the expense, saddlebags, fairings or not, or belt drive. I do agree that people should learn to ride on smaller bikes but beyond that I thought your argument was weak pertaining to the road king

I have a 2012 RK and love it. Had 1998 Dyna wide glide before that but what I love about the RK is it’s like owning a convertible car. I have a reckless fairing on it so it’s like a street glide but with my fairing I can take it off and ride with out it. So I have the best of both worlds with my Roadking!!😎🤘

Anyone looking to start riding don’t listen to this idiot heavier is better to an extent a 250 is a parking lot bike they get blown all over the road and ur more likely to crash and who wants to spend 3-4k on a 250 to turn around an sell it a week later cuz it’s to small no one necessarily needs a road king but buy what YOU want to ride and I’ll be happy

Recommend 800-900 CC for first bike? lol someone doesn't understand CC's Put a newbie on a Ninja 900 and see how long they live. RoadKing was made to fill the void between Highway and Local thus the lack of fairing and detachable windshield. You don't want to lay down the bike because of cost... ugh you don't want to lay down any bike. Claims he likes it because its basic and lacks all the distractions as he scrolls on his mounted phone not paying attention at an intersections and riding! lol

In my 50's and just started riding. My first bike is a Vstar 1100. Everyone said, TOO much bike, to big. LMAO. It's a freak'n toy! YES, was a beast for the first three months. Not even a year later, I'm ready for a bigger bike. Only 5'6" and 235lbs. The 620lbs vstar stepping up to an 820lbs bike does give me some hesitation, but man, Roadking is a real bike. My old Jap Vstar 1100 looks GREAT, but it is not in the same class as Indian or Harley.

Put a fan on your oil cooler. SMH My first Harley was a 76 bicentennial edition super glide. The next one was an 86 Electra glide. I've been riding full dressers since. It's all about balance and confidence in your machine. My wife doesn't ride as much anymore, so I bought a 23 Road King special. It's perfect for a nice 2-3 hour cruise by myself.

I just got my first bike a few weeks ago. A 2005 Road King Special. I’m new to riding, so I think I’ll leave here alone for at least a year😂. I have no warranty it at all I bought as is…………. What the heck! I think I will at least do the stage one, why not🤷🏽‍♂️. For all I know, it may already have a stage one set up. Maybe even a stage 2, I don’t know. I don’t know anything about motorcycles. The bike is already 19 years old. I’m sure it has something in it🤔.

Well, I guess I did not follow that rules🤔. It’s my bday today so my wife got me a 2005 Road King for my first bike. The best way to celebrate me turning 40. Now, I’ve been on a big bike before. My father-in-law had a Kawasaki cruiser 1700 cc. That’s the bike I learned on over 7 years ago 😬. So, an old friend told me if you were able to handle something with that much power, it wouldn’t make sense to go with a smaller bike as a starter bike. Fast forward to now. Moving from California to Florida, I’ve decided to go head and get my motorcycle license, which was an easy course. Right when Covid was happening. So, 3 years later, my wife bless me with something that she knew I’ve always wanted since California. I felt the need to get a big bike for obvious reason. I know I’d get bored on a smaller bike starting out🤷🏽‍♂️. I’m still extremely new to the motorcycle world by a long shot, but I’m highly excited for my new journey. My 16-year-old daughter is already calling dibs on my bike when I decide to get a newer bike😂. I just purchased my bike a few days ago. I’ve picked my daughter up from school and it was great👌🏽. Also, I think it depends on the person. If you feel you can handle a heavy bike, go get you a heavy bike. I do need a windshield though. I can’t stop looking at my bike as I walk into my garage. Just amazed that I have a Harley sitting in my garage 🥰. Great video.

LOL. He isn't even right about that! Roadking is a GREAT local casual rider! In fact, me and my buddy love our 1 hours rides on weekend! I think if you are only going out for local rides, YOU WANT to have a beast bike with nice exhaust and feel like you accomplished something. Peeps talking about bikes like you can only ride Touring bikes long distance. Many will take their cruisers all over the place! Whatever. Roadking gives you a lot of entertainment for the money!!!! He leaves out everything about the amazing Feel and experience of a Harley. NOT EVEN touched on it. Main reason peeps buy a big bike is the EXPERIENCE! It's 100 times better than these little 500cc things!

I knew when I clicked on this it wasn’t a bad purchase, sweet bike , ol yokel zeitz or whatever his name is , with all his visions for Harley Davidson when he’s done all we’ll have available to us is unaffordable Cvos and softails unfit for touring and long rides , I have 21 Electra glide standard love it no frills , no radio, no infotainment bs. Batwing 107 glad I got one , great entry level touring affordable but that was cancelled too WTF!

best beginner bike IMO would be a 250cc. Buy it used and get good at riding. After that, no reason not to go directly to a Road King. But I 100% disagree on needing to take a RK on the highway. Highways suck on all bikes. If you enjoy riding you'll be setting your gps or plotting your map to avoid highways. the RK is King of country roads

These are all personal to you reasons. My first bike is the 07 road king. Came with stage one with pipes. The main reason for getting the bike was to have the comfort of a touring bike WITHOUT all the added extras like the front fairing and the radio. Has the power I wanted and the look I was after. And as far as dropping the bike.. pray that doesn't happen. But if it does. Ebay is loaded with part replacement for these bikes.
