According to the general manager, they hope that the big four supermarket chains will be encouraged to reconsider the way they, the big four, operate and perhaps change their ways to become more people and customer friendly and less profit driven. I very much doubt that will happen. For Tesco and Sainsbury and the others, The People's Supermarket is competition, quirky and right now no real threat. But as soon as the big guns identify a loss of market share, they will take action. I suspect however that the community supported, consumer-first, membership style business model, competitive pricing, quality products and the other unique features will continue to appeal to the members and customers and as long as the management are able to control growth, which ironically could prove to be a problem, they will survive and succeed. Congrats and good luck to them.

It's important to not lose our cultural legacy. Antiquity has proven sustainable, the overuse of newer materials generate more carbon emissions.
