Back in the day I remember paying a demo disk on a cousin's brand new ps1, the demo had MGS, spyro, a snowboarding game, Medievil and maybe other games I cannot recall as of now, good times.

I used to play Medievil Resurrection my dad's psp, I had no idea what I was doing but it was so cool to find runes, open gates and he had all the weapons unlocked. And he got a copy of this one when it came out, I had a blast getting the platinum

I never played the original and I first played the remake back in December 2020. Loved it and I make sure to play it yearly around Halloween. Though, I didn't play it last year. Played Resurrection instead and played the original this year since it was added to the PSN with trophy support. Really tempted to play the remake, though. It's been 2 years. Maybe in December. I do like a spooky Christmas

My thoughts exactly, just like Spyro's remake and the first few Crash Bandicoot remakes... I get why it's not so liked now and hated but I rest my case, it was still a good fun game though in it's natural habitat before getting tampered with etc.

Re7 had its direction and tone set before P.T. was released btw. If anything PT and RE7 were big developers trying to recomnect with horror fans after Amnesia and other indie horrors started making money and getting main stream attention. Great video thanks for reminding us all that Re7 was a legit labor of love and rare time when the fans get surprised by an old franchise🎉

All the primary sources about Yasuke are around 10-15 lines of text split into 4 letters a diary and a brief sentence in a chronicle. Three of these mention the same event. We know that he was a black man 6'2", was strong and healthy around 26-27 years old. We know that he was presented to Nobunaga on March 27th 1581. Entered his service by May 11th. Was given a stipend and a short sword. Occasionally he was seen bearing arms. After Nobunaga's death he was with his heir fighting in his mansion against Akechi's vassals. He surrendered and Akechi said he was like an animal who knows nothing and not Japanese with this he was sent to the "church of the indian padre". This is about all the information the primary sources mention. Everything else is conjecture or made up.

Let me put it in another lense, if a game came out about black culture in America, but they got everything wrong and associated things with African Americans that arent associated with them. And then said "Yea this game is historically accurate this is really what happened, this is authentic Black American Culture." Would you not be angry at them misrepresenting you ?

It is fiction but I think Japanese people and fans of Japan wanted to play a Japanese protagonist to get immersed in the culture, not a guy like he's from the Bronx listening to hip hop music while pulverising people with a big club. It's ridiculous. It's like making Bayek listen to Mariachi music. Stupid AF.

They CANNOT use assault rifles in Assassins Creed. Thats why we will NEVER get a game that is set later than Syndicate. Because if they do that they will have to redesign everything and essentially turn AC into GTA but with parkour. Thats why we will never get an open world modern day story

What a waste of time. The whole series has boasted historical accuracy since AC one and is its main selling point, traveling through and being a part of history not entirely changing it to suit political agendas and you are too dense to understand it. Egyptian gods were an animus glitch and everything has an explanation is you actually pay attention instead of being a boring murder hobo

This issue is going beyond the game and becoming a diplomatic issue. Thomas Lockley, author of "AfricanSamurai," the original ACS, appears to be the source of all this. He's rewritten the wording in the Japanese and English versions. Where the Japanese version mentions speculation, the English version makes no mention of speculation. As a result, people who cannot check the Japanese source misinterpreted his fiction book as historical fact. It looks like UBI is also a victim of his deception. However, copyright infringement and tracing in the work is another matter. It is out of character for a creator. No matter how great the graphics are, this game is garbage.

Let’s be real: You have no knowledge of other cultures nor do you care to learn; from what you said in this short rant about AC shadows not being historically accurate, it sounds like words have no meaning to you at all either lol I’d personally like to see an AC set in Africa with the Dutch/french/Chinese exploiting African tribes and while we’re at it, let’s throw mansa musa in there for sensationalism cus who cares about historical accuracy right? With all these supposed “””rayciss wytes””” I’m sure that game would do better sales than AC shadows and be just as fun gameplay.

From what I've seen, while certainly a major part of it is that the main protag isn't a male samurai, there are a bunch of other things that are causing outrage in Japan that boils down to cultural insensitivity. For instance, Torii gates are used at the entrances to or even inside Shinto shrines and represent the transition between the mundane and the sacred. In the AC:Shadows trailer they are seen apparently being used at the entrances to villages. There are architectural design errors as well as social etiquette errors (such as a retainer shown being seated on the same level as his lord or Yasuke himself seemingly depicted always walking around in battlefield armor) seen in the trailers. For a company that once removed crossbows from one of their AC games because it wasn't historically accurate for them to be in the game and the claim that the company has been working with historical experts these kinds of things have been rather shocking and leading Japanese people to feel as if their culture is just being shit on. That's not even mentioning the fact that Ubisoft straight up stole a Japanese reenactment group's personal flag for their own use.

The best way to explain any complaints of historical accuracy is that if there is tech to make and use an Animus in the present day of the game series' world, it is no longer our world. It is now an artistic representation of a world. For example, in 50 Cent Bulletproof, a superstar rapper is shown to be shooting his way through the New York underworld. It is safe to say many things in that game were an artistic expression, and should not be perceived as reality. I have to buy that game now thanks for making me think of it.

Problem with these so called Japanese people is anyone can claim to be Japanese when there identity is hidden behind a keyboard and thanks to a user on social media, the so called Japanese people more so the ones supporting a petition to cancel the game and force there views onto others. Even though they claim that is not what there doing. While supporting a movement that does the exact opposite of what they claim. There profiles have been leaked and like 90% are found to be middle aged white dudes from the United States and when actual Japanese people are asked about all this, these same people blow them off because they don't want to hear the fact they honestly truly do not care. But get called things like sell out or race traitors or not true gamers. If the subject is gonna be based on historical accuracy then why does any of that matter? More so for a game that never has been 100% historically accurate from the start and even has a disclaimer stating that it's not meant to be at the start every single game as well. All I see is people trying to speak on another cultures behalf out of pure hate towards a company they don't like and honestly that's far more disrespectful than this game. 🤦

Fact is not a single bit of the hate this game is getting has any facts or reason behind it. It's just pure toxic hate and a trend. Even the argument of the price can be explained as misinformation as the choice to buy collectors editions and stuff is not the base price and every single game is being sold for $70 right now. Yes that's expensive but that is not this game's fault more so the market as a whole. If anything these people should be more angry with the government and inflation not this game. Companies charge fees there forced to pay themselves. Taxes and wages go up as a result the product they are selling goes up as well it's basic marketing. Don't like it remember this come next election and vote to change it. That's all you can do. Otherwise such logic should be applied to every single game charging this price not just this 1 specific game just because it's cool to hate on Ubisoft. Plus calling a game woke just because a black guys in it is 100% racist more so since the guy actually existed. His story might be tweaked a little bit but he was there no narrative is being forced here. It even states like I said at the start of every single ac game. This game is based on historical figures and events but is mostly a work of fiction. They take inspiration from these events and characters and make there own story. It's never been intended to be historically accurate only partially. Pretty sure the pope didn't get into a fist fight with a random hooded guy in a church. Also pretty sure there's never been no magical space wizard with mind controlling apples and staffs. I mean origins and Valhalla had you fighting gods on flaming horses and wearing an iron man suit. 😅

@@JoshuaVaughan-pi1sn Not really for example someone's makes a game base on India,it's people and culture however make the MC of said game British and the game is about the British guy "saving" India from itself.....but gets worse now let people think the the British guy was an actual hero and well respected figure in India....... That pretty messed up right . I bet the Indian won't be to Happy about that either. UBI advertised yosuke as an actual samurai based on a book by Thomas who studied in Nihon university. It's important to note that Thomas was also a part of AC Shadows and of this day has deleted all of his online present due to other japanese historians And the Japanese government investigating his claim that yosuke was a samurai. Japan doesn't care about other people taking inspiration from their culture due to the fact that they regularly do the same however it's an entirely different matter when someone actively tries to alter their history. So even you don't think "historical alteration" isn't a big deal to people who actually care about true history it is
