I can't drag'n'drop the Toolkit.DLL from C:\USER\.nuget\packages\... to the VS2022, .Net8 Workspace, Toolbox. Only makes a sound and then nothing. Installed the Toolkit using nuget package manager.

I just tried it now on VS2022 and it worked. But the framework is .NET Framework 4.8. but your right I don't think xceed is available for .Net8. It may be called something different - it's not clear on their website what the deal is. Are you able to find out more?

Is there a way to add a dockable panel this way? I´ve been trying this for two days and I don´t get it to work without referencing .dll, which kills the advantages your workflow has.
@jlumley
@jlumley 6 ай бұрын
If you mean dockable panel the way the 'properties' window is docked that is a different kettle of fish entirely. I wouldn't recommend it unless your making a very advanced addin. Stick with ribbon panels.

This video is goldmine! Joshua, I have a question regarding the setup project: when adding the primary output of the actual plugin (MyParent and MyChild in your video), VS adds bunch of DLLs when I only need one for my add-in to function. Are these DLLs really needed?
@jlumley
@jlumley 11 ай бұрын
No they're not needed and can't be used anyway unless they're loaded individually. They never bothered me much because the files are small. If your using something like 'Advanced Installer' to make your MSI then you can be more effectively selective on what stays in.

Look at your project's bin folder and see if your project's dll has a conflict in it's name. Just delete that one and then Rebuild your solution.

@@jlumley if you could just guide me that would be enough, its like I am hypothetically trying to find every single item of a particular family spread over the entire drawing. I selected one item from the linked model. Copy pasted it in the model itself and could see its ID but that doesnr help me find other members that are spread over the huge drawing. What is the process for that. Tried copying other items from the same family but they all have different IDs. Even with programming one cant find it. Or what is it that you are trying to tell me. Sorry if its confusing. Kindly guide me. Now I have a fully working visual studio that runs hello world in revit. Highly proud of myself.
