Great video! I changed the rods in my laundry machine but the new ones are slighltly shorter than the original ones? Now it doesnt bang while it spins, but it does sometimes when its washing. What do you think it may be the cause?

i wait to get my new suspension rod to ship to me and decided to use the hammer to hit on the metal part on the old suspension rod and put everything all back together. I tested the washing machine it work pretty good. Now my new suspenion rod is just hang out there in case I need to use it.

I'm using this actually right now this stuff has saved my security deposit. Even though it says without standing, you have to send it works better on tough surfaces. So you should always sand clean sand and then prime. Apply a thin coat, let it dry for an hour. Even though it says 30 minutes, let it dry an hour and then apply another thin coat. And let that try an hour then paint

So how do I know if I need this fix, or new shock(s)?

Couldn't you just put some tape around the shaft. rough up the surface of the hole on the drum. then set the drum back on the shaft. Put some tape on the bottom of the drum, and pour some jb weld into the hole? that would form new splines for the drum. Just a thought looking at the video. I haven't actually taken mine apart yet to see if it's doable. But mine might just be the rods.

I popped open this washing machine trying to figure out how to stop it from rocking itself 45 degrees from its original position (as well as spin well enough to actually dry my clothing), and it seems that the inner tub has the same rocking issue as you've shown. I am currently dealing with a older Maytag bravo I cannot get it to go into diagnose mode. It keeps getting stuck with one light on most recently lid. Lock was stuck on if it’s not finished washing two nights ago it stopped in the middle of washer cycle with the tub full, any idea what I’m dealing with

I previously changed the rods $140- no joy. I ordered a new spline part form whirlpool and installed $30.- no improvement. Then I installed Bens modification per their directions $50. It's now working perfect. No more jumping/banging- no noise...Saved hundreds of dollars from buying a new washer. YES IT WORKS! Thank you Ben and Richard.

Replaced this part, from Ben's, replaced the springs, 4 rods and machine still bangs during spin cycle. Now what? any suggestions???? Re-cal., etc. done. Now?????

Hello, I have this brand but I believe its a newer model. Anyways I recently just cleaned it and it has been showing on the screen as E04. Might you have any idea what that means? It also show lights up red for high temperature. Please if you can help a girl out i would really appreciate it.

I was so frustrated with our Whirlpool top loader going out of balance i almost threw it away and bought new. After reviewing a couple of your videos I was able to determine it was the suspension rods. I paid attention and purchased factory direct items. I did most of the repair and my husband placed the new rods in. The best part of this video was the use of the old rod to pull up the new one. I was able to wash my first load immediately following with NO out of balance issues. I am so much happier and no longer yelling obscenities at the machine.

I bought one of those metal hub drives, and within 3 months it broke into 4 pieces under the agitator plate went back to the plastic hub drive. Cheaper to replace.

so if the inner tub goes up and down it is DEFINITELY not the suspension rods? Most likely not the suspension rods? I just want to take it apart once!

I’m about to install this but I’m curious. Do the splines on the hub kit have to pull double duty with smoothed out tub splines? Or is replacing the actual tub and adding this kit going to give you the longest life?

Made life soooooo much easier. AND on my model WTW5000DW1, I found that once it’s out of the top backer, a sharp shove and the lower disengaged and it slid right out through the top. No need to turn it on its back and reach through the bottom. Thanks!

Once again a comedian. I hope people don't take him seriously. Just get a reliable washing machine that don't have all these problems. They are serious junks. All of them. I had one and got a lg and still the working machine today.

I just finished repairing mine. I’m glad I didn’t buy the shocks because I knew that wasn’t the issue. It took me about 3 hours just because I also wanted to clean the everything inside the washer and also vacuum behind it and mopped the floor underneath it. I’m glad I bought that tool to tighten it up. You will definitely need it to save your butt. Now it runs like a dream. Thank you Richard Koon!

🚨this is an easy fix and most likely the cause for a washer jumping around. I replaced the springs and it still jumped. If when holding the outer tub lip and shaking the inner tub and there is any play or rocking back and forth, then this is the fix. MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE SHIM KIT. when you take off the plastic OEM hub and clean off the shaft, make sure you install the shim that will take the play out of the shaft to tub contact. I didn’t do this the first time and there was play after installing this part. Ben appliance sells the shim kit in three sizes when you order it. Mine was the middle one which was green that I had to install. Once I tapped that in between the tub and the shaft there was no play. I then installed the hub like in the video and there is no play. Had to order hub again because I couldn’t break the Loctite on the 1st one. My washer is working 100% now. I can’t stress it enough make sure you install a shim or it will still jump and have play even after it’s installing the hub fully. Depending how long you’ve been using your washer and letting it jump around will dictate how much of the tub has been worn away, which will require the shim size to be different. Use a thin flat surface and tap the shim around till flush. Don’t use a pointed object or screw driver as this will damage the shim.

I absolutely will never buy another Samsung appliance. I am now about to replace this piece for the 4th time! At first I thought it was heating element so I bought the Heating Element kit with athe 4 sensors/fuses. After replacing that a couple of times I bought just the sensors/fuses...and now, I just bought a 4 pack of this particular Thermal Fuse. I'm going to try your suggestion!! Hopefully this stops the insanity of tearing my dryer down about every 30 days! My kingdom for an "old school" style washer & dryer with NO fancy bells, whistles, sensors, etc
