If your Samsung dryer keeps tripping the thermal limiter on the heating element, replace it one more time and then do this!

I absolutely will never buy another Samsung appliance. I am now about to replace this piece for the 4th time! At first I thought it was heating element so I bought the Heating Element kit with athe 4 sensors/fuses. After replacing that a couple of times I bought just the sensors/fuses...and now, I just bought a 4 pack of this particular Thermal Fuse. I'm going to try your suggestion!! Hopefully this stops the insanity of tearing my dryer down about every 30 days! My kingdom for an "old school" style washer & dryer with NO fancy bells, whistles, sensors, etc

you sir are a genius. Awhile back we had a repeat offender Samsung dryer blowing those high limits. Pretty sure we replaced the heat element twice along with that limit fuse. But I now have another "Tool" in my mental "Tool Box" Thank you.

If this works - you sir deserve an appliance repair medal !! My heat element and high limit switch were both bad at same time, so replaced both - then 3 more high limits before seeing your video. Went to my moisture sensor and a dryer sheet had wedged itself in a crack and was covering half the sensor. Fingers crossed that's all it was - cause I'm sick of taking this thing apart

Thank you, our dryer would run but not heat. I saw a video that suggested the centrifugal switch on the motor was faulty, stripped the dryer down, found nothing wrong and put it back together and it worked. 2 weeks later it stopped heating again. I saw this video and realized, I never put anything back together without cleaning it and wiped everything over with a damp cloth. That was probably enough to make it work for a short time. Now cleaned it properly and it is working.

Hey Richard this is a great video thank you. I have read one of your reply saying "a stuck heater relay on the control board" do you have a video how to change this. My Dryer in Refresh mode blowing hot air. In dry mode dryer keeps giving HC code. I cleaned everything in the machine, I removed the Drum to make sure no lint anywhere but still working 2-3 minutes and giving an HC code stopping the dryer. If you have any idea please let me know. I checked and replaced everything but no luck at all.
@richardkoon55442 жыл бұрын
I would disconnect the wires from the heater relay on the board and check it for continuity. If it is showing continuity, then it is stuck. Unfortunately, Samsung fills their boards with a glue substance and makes changing the relay difficult. After confirming the relay is stuck, I'd replace it. You could try tapping on the relay to possibly unstick it, but that may only last temporaily. I'll have to try to find a way to unglue one. Thanks for the info and good luck.

If your dryer is overheating even on timed dry not just sensor dry there’s a good chance your cycling thermostat or thermistor is bad.

I was excited about my fix until you said not running as hot or as long. My clothes need an extra 20 minutes cycle after the "normal" (where water sensors are supposed to work) because they are still damp. And, when I used timed dry, the machine will keep going even when it's off (no heat, just tumbles). But, cool video. I'm still going to clean mine.
@richardkoon5544 Жыл бұрын
LoL... Check your venting. From the machine to where it exits the structure. Some times the exit for the exhaust can get built up with lint.
@dzaonyout Жыл бұрын
@@richardkoon5544 I took that thing completely apart. I could eat off of it. And, I only have 3 extra screws when I put it back together. From the machine to the wall, that part is new and the rest of the house was professionally cleaned from the wall to the outlet. I think it's the thermostat. I got 0 ohms on both thermostats. Doesn't know when to turn off and can't know how to regulate, is my guess.

What about if I use the timer for drying without the sensors being used? That’s how I’ve been drying clothes and it keeps burning out.
@richardkoon5544 Жыл бұрын
If it takes more than one cycle to dry, you more than likely have an air flow problem. Check the hose from the dryer to the exit point of the building.

Do you have full air flow from the outside vent? One time I had a moisture senser with bubble gum crossing the two rods of the sensor. Check them both out. Also check the back panel for air blockage.

I just replaced my heating element. It heated for one load after replacing and now no longer heats. Do you think this is related?
@richardkoon5544 Жыл бұрын
Yes, and make sure the vent is clear. You "may" have a bad board. Try a new thermal cut out stat on the element, clean the moisture sensor, and clean the vent from the dryer to the outside of your home. Also clean the lint filter housing. Good luck.

I have another problem....... My samsung dryer keeps tripping the thermal limiter..... Replaced 4 times so far.... during this time I have made sure the air flow is clear.... I did as Richard Koon suggested on cleaning the sensor with no luck. Then I quit using the sensor mode and only use the "time mode" with no effect. Now... Now I'm thinking to have a different issue. "The Thermostat" I'm thinking the thermostat is possible sticking or giving false info, making the dryer heat up higher than should be, thus causing the high limit to blow. Yes, high limit is blowing, but for different reason. Maybe. When I install new thermostat, I will let yall know.
@richardkoon55442 жыл бұрын
Try running it on air only or no heat. Then check to see if it is heating. You may have a stuck heater relay on the control board.

It could be a control board issue checkout this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGG4mJ9of7NqmbM it could be the cause of your problem I have also had that problem on my mother-in-laws where the belt broke but their was a safety switch inside the drier (it may habe been an LG) that when the belt breaks the drier won't turn on at all.
@Jperales962 жыл бұрын
it is the belt, need a replacement of the pulley and most possibly the belt, the samsung pulleys tend to clog and stop, and the belt keeps running until it sands down completely and when it snaps the pulley frees itself from the spring and touches a switch that cuts the engine
