I know this video is old now but this is the best POE build guide I’ve ever watched. It just made sense and I was able to follow your reasoning and not get weighed down by obscure reference that only a 10k hr player would know. Thanks!

I had no plans to check out last epoch but after I saw the big idea they have to improve arpgs with how trade works I checked out the game more and I'm definitely gonna do it with a bunch of friends day 1. I was going to just wait it out for poe2 but I feel like last epoch deserves a shot at this point and I'll just hope for the best going in as blind as I can

I was hoping to see a new meta podcast again, and I missed ep 192! Looking forward to listening to both of these latest eps.

Between all of the changes they've made to D3 lately, pretty sure Season 28 was my last, initially I was hoping because D4 would become my main jam but that didn't happen lol. But crippling paragon which always existed to give the satisfaction of always gaining exp and levels which to me was nice. I'd hit 3-4k and feel pretty strong. 1k is nothing. And then their constant nerfs of builds I enjoyed and now finally they're making Altar of Rites permanent but in a crappy weak state other than the QoL stuff. I'd honestly prefer we got the full power version of Altar on a seasonal rotation and Altar as the strongest would be last in the rotation. I don't think the Pestilence buffs are nearly enough to make it relevant either. I just don't really have any interest in D3 anymore, as someone who put in 4k hours over the years, the changes they've made are just not really in the direction that kept me playing so long. Time to pick up PoE I guess. I've never played it so hope it's as good as I've heard.

I will say that was one of the biggest problems I had with PoE and I love the game, I have over 10k hours. It was the fact that the developers seem to hold D2 on some holy pedestal as the peak of game design. Many of the problems that plagued PoE when I used to play a lot more were remnants of a D2 design philosophy and the developers' bizarre reverence of it over the needs and wants of their modern playerbase. That could explain the conscious decision to simply reskin their UI endlessly instead of updating it. I can't remember exactly what the mechanic was, but it was during the very first Exilecon. When unveiling PoE 2, I think it was Jonathan Rogers who talked about finally removing one of the mechanics that was in the game for a long time solely due to the fact it was a remnant of D2. It was a mechanic that made no sense within the context of a modern ARPG like PoE. PoE has transcended far and beyond D2. Think about a game like League of Legends, one of the biggest on the planet these days, which has multiple spinoffs, TV shows, etc. Imagine the developers and game directors coming out on stage and having discussions about the implementation of DotA mechanics in the year 2023. You'd get a very small subset of people who love it and the vast majority of players looking at them in utter disbelief and confusion. It's also strange to me that with all the good communication that GGG has with its playerbase, never being shy about interviews, they've never gotten a question about updating the UI. It's extremely odd and even if the developers don't want to, I can imagine them making a change if the players made a big enough stink about it, but nobody ever asks. With all that being said, the mindset of the directors and designers could be a gift and a curse. While creating many unnecessary problems for PoE over the years, that D2 mindset could simultaneously be the reason why GGG has yet to devolve into a company filled with empty suits whose main goal is to figure out new ways to scam their players, like other ARPGs.

Poe2 has a ton of solid looking potential since it just builds upon what's already there with poe1 but many new ways to do it now and total approach for how game should work with skill and socket overhaul. New ascendency and probable even more beef to the Atlas system on top of it is hard not to be hyped. Meanwhile D4 taking away powers and keeping it seasonal is so bizarre and im not sold that I wanna support blizzards d4 project with the potential stash space leaks costing money on top of expansions and battle passes like what the frig. If we ultimately have to wait for the D4 expansion to bring real meaty content on top of all the mtx going on I'm super checked out personally. I think the main thing going for d4 is that its very console friendly and I haven't seen or heard anything about PoE 2 console yet so Blizzard might be able to maintain that space regardless of what happens next year uncontested. There is always the Titan quest 2 sequel coming that I'd bet will go on console but no real info on that game yet. Next year will be full of intriguing game news.

DIABLO 3 has better COSMETICS and REWARDS. I dont care about any season journey crap in D4... I hit level 75 and pretty much had enough....

Wow that sucks. I mean I want the lag to go, but the ambiance is kind of what I liked about "Blizzard of old" games. Guess I'll have to look elsewere for quality ARPG games now huh. But THANKS for this info Lord Fluffy, gameplay with lag is unbearable!

Pchilds game ban stories are wild. I was banned once in an MMO for making too much money in a certain time period I guess, similar to the nba story. Some automated ban that flagged like if I found a dupe or something in game is what I guess. I was unbanned without any comment in only one day when i sent in a ticket.. I think I'd quit the game if i had to wait 30 days with no apology or anything that would rub me the wrong way.

D4 season 2 is def a step in the right direction. However itemization and end game should continue to be their main focus...a bit worried with the recent season 3 announcement and leader boards. Seems like the D3 devs still on the diablo team are heavily influencing development...I don't want a D3.5. I am not excited for any loot that drops in D4, need to get the dopamine going the moment an item drops, but instead I have to go back to town and hopefully find a marginal upgrade in a sea of rares that bloat my inventory.

Jonathan did say, the duel spec thing, you could only dual spec parts of the skill tree. So you don't quite get 2 full skill trees. Don't get me wrong though, that was a drop the chin to the floor when I saw it, even after I Jonathan clarified the system later on.

PoE do message players if they try to buy too many tabs in any one go. As they expand there system in an incremental way that Chris has discussed in a few podcasts. But it's just a sysadmin issue, rather than a dev issue. Which is where the issue should be.

Great build but you're all over the place and it makes it a literal headache to follow along.

D4 isnt a Arpg its a storage stash 2.0. Find myself wasting time after doing GR-dungeons or RedTide's in the stash sorting and trying to locate legs/aspects to upgrade or salvage. How u can release a game with no "search options" within your stash. WTF.

Lioness is excellent. Apart from Star trek can't remember the last time I couldn't wait for the week to go by for the next episode. The Witcher was such a Disappointment, feel so bad for Cavil. Don't bother watching the rest Pchild, I didn't even realize it was the last episode as it was so shit and no cliff hanger. Heard it possibly going to get cancelled due to all the writer and actor strikes.

I know P isnt into streaming these days and Fluff recently came back but I appreciate you guys still hang out to do these podcasts. Much love
