This sounded so much more brutal with Matt. I really wish they coulda gotten a pro shot DVD of this set with this lineup.

Barlow sounds a lot better here than in other videos despite the crowd singing. Maybe the videos where he sucks were before he had a chance to rehearse much.
@viciousblissvideos8 ай бұрын
Barlow is out of his depth here. It sounds like he lacks conviction because he's struggling with the notes and has to take care of that first. Notice how much better he hits the notes when he gets a bit rough or shouty. He's working too hard, not letting compressors and whatever else do their job. You can make yourself sound loud without having to raise your voice if you know how the different devices affect your dynamic range. People don't realize how much things like compression and saturation reduce the natural dynamic range of a voice and how FX can add notes and all this. That said, Barlow could deliver a much better version of these Glorious Burden songs if given time.

Sorry, but I prefer Ripper on this one.
@thesentinelsfootballchanne321211 ай бұрын
That's the worst thing. The content that Ripper sung over worked better for his skill set. And since Barlow and him have different approaches to singing, some songs when played live sounded bad. Like this one. But sounds like "The Clouding" work well for either singer.
@Valentineismynameorisit10 ай бұрын
@@thesentinelsfootballchanne3212I completely agree, the Matts version of The Clouding is basically just as awesome as Tims.

Who was the.other guitarrist!? Santolla?
@lupiniii16682 жыл бұрын
i'm not sure cause of the quality, but i think it's Troy Seele also Santolla only played in The Glorious Burden which was released in 2004 (this show was at 2008), also he didn't preform live more than 10 times with them i think or maybe never preformed live idk tbh cause he left the same year the album was released. he passed away in 2018 tho, rip

Barlow doing Hold at all Costs? How the fuck have I never seen this before! If he was going to do any songs off that album, this one was definitely a good choice for him. He may not have sang the verses as aggressive as Tim, but that’s ok....he nailed that emotional intro, his forte
@Sharingan166610 ай бұрын
Matt originally sang the entire album before Tim was brought in, but slightly reworked after Matt left to make the music fit Tim's style better. You can still hear Matt on the album during the songs Attila and When the Eagle Cries (Unplugged).

This must be whats its like to meet the Queen with your friend that has a compulsion to be nude. You want the experience to be amazing and dignified...but then theres your friend... Then again, maybe this is why God didnt give us all the ability to record video before. He only allowed it now to show us what we needed to know. That we shouldnt.

I was there at the Wiltern in 2008 when they played. There were a few notables 1.) this guy in the background who wouldn't shut up 2.) some 6 foot 5" viking looking dude long blonde hair standing in the middle of the mosh pit as nobody could topple him. He just threw everyone who got near him 3.) some tiny Hispanic dude who jumped on my friends back repeatedly during the mosh and held on 4.) we were underage so some strange goth couple let us sip their drink then regretted it because they didn't want to get caught and kicked out LOL
