Nice to see the qual update. More reloads, use of cover, firing off barricades, very cool.

Man how it’s changed from when I had to qualify. There was no supported position with a barricade. It was the first three standing , kneeling (little soft pocket behind your elbow of your non dominant hand and would rest on your knee cap it) then prone. Our support was the magazine and us holding the weapon properly.

This is one of if not the best KZbin videos I’ve ever watched with so few views. I watched this on the bus to school about 2 minutes ago and actually started tearing up a little bit near the end of this video when you mentioned his childhood memories being erased alongside Clementine, and I haven’t even seen the movie. The quote from Nietzsche-I have a small background with his Übermensch stuff-at the beginning perfectly encapsulates what this video is about by telling the exactly opposite maxim. Joel is not blessed in his forgetfulness, but is lost in it. For he did not forget what cursed him, and instead forgot what made him himself. Thank you for this video.

No. However, each target will be up for a predetermined amount of time. And the Range Safety Officers will call a cease fire by the end of the qualification where every soldier should be finished by.

@@indocisco Each set of targets have different times. Some sets of 4 targets may last a total of 19 seconds whereas others may last 14 seconds depending on the number of targets present and the range. Somw targets may only be up for 5 seconds. Specific times are posted in the documents cited in the video. The total rough runtime for the whole qualification may be 4 minutes or more.

Still not much different than I was trained with in 1982. A CMP Garand match is more challenging and most CMP shooters even with antique M1 would easily hit expert. Sad but US Army still has such low standards

"Automatically reload" Damn I only know how to manually reload.

Some soldiers wait for the command to reload from the tower. "Automatically reload" implies to do it immediately following your spent magazine without instruction. Hope this clears it up.

Can u use ACOG 4x in this kind of qualifications ? Like can u decide ur accessories on your weapon ？

The weapon accessories depend on your unit. Some may run iron sights but majority of units will use the CCO.

You can use RCOs if your unit allows.

How do you get a good qualification in this? With the time u spend, with the shots u missed, with the ammunition that had to be used?

There are 40 targets. Soldiers must hit at least 23-29 out of 40 targets to qualify, earning the marksman badge. A score of 30-35 out of 40 targets will give the sharpshooter badge. The best scores are the 36-40 out of 40 targets to earn the expert badge. Hope this helps.
