I really enjoyed the POV style. It feels quite immersive. One other style I thought was excellent was from a few years back when you were exploring the Ogmore valley with very little dialogue but with a lot of notes that you shared. Any plans to try this again?

Great video, Ian - I also shoot with Fuji. I've always loved the colors and the overall image/build quality. For me, this system offers one of the best price-to-performance ratios. I really enjoy working with them. What I don't like at the moment are the latest firmware updates for the T5/H2/H2s; the tracking really needs to be stickier... But otherwise, these cameras are packed with features that you'd see in higher-end cameras, and sometimes not even there. The DR of the RAW´s or F-Log2 is insane - Love the Fuji vibes ;)

Thanks buddy, I haven't tried the new firmware updates yet. Thanks for the heads up 👍

@@ian_worth sure no problem - after this experience, I will definitely wait a bit longer before installing the next firmware 😆. They fixed some issues with the latest one but there is room for improvements. Have a nice day ✌

@3:18 the camera view would have made for a good starting point for a long exposure composition using the bottom of the stairs & the boulders as primary elements.

The other plus side is this, if you're photographing a sunset or sunrise the light changes quickly, if you're using a tripod you can change you're composition by zooming in or out, with a prime lens you may have to change your lens or move your camera and tripod, you will lose time and the new location may not work well, also when you zoom with your feet your foreground changes and that might not work in your favor. So i would say if you are going to photograph a location that your know you will be moving around to shoot different angles and compositions try a prime if you are photographing a subject that will not allow you the freedom of movement a zoom lens will give you the ability to dial in your composition with out moving location.

Is the waves over the rocks a composite image Ian? Or just the best from that session? Thanks
@ian_worthКүн бұрын
The first shot was a composite, I blended 2 images to get the water flows in the right place. The final 2 shots were focus stacked, the rest were single frames 👍

I would use f16 and iso 200 here
@paweowczarek4696Күн бұрын
Yes, he could but I remember Ian's words about the ability of producing noises by your camera/matrix in one of the last video and in that case the difference between 200 ISO and 320 one is the same for his camera in my opinion. Especially when we talk about modern cameras. So, what I mean is the more important to get less diffraction effect comes from your lens by using f/10 and of course we have a bit less depth of field than using f/16. Doing focus stacking we stop worrying about getting huge depth of field in that specific case. I would explain it this way but Ian could have had different reasons to decide on using those settings there. Well, anyway the pictures are fantastic. Regards from Poland

Photopills is the best-buy for any photographer. About 10-15$ for android, and 15-20$ for ios.

Uv filter is a must have though, unless you want broken glass 😉 not expensive and does nothing but protection. And lens hood, for protection too.

Ian, there's ALWAYS reason for another visit! Your photographic skills are inspiring, even to this 72-year-old amateur. Started my journey with an Argus 126, I believe. Even at 11 years of age, I envisioned myself to be as good as the World's BEST photographer: my dad! My first 35mm film camera was the Canon AE-1. Naturally, I progressed to DSLR, then Mirrorless. Although I've remained loyal to Canon (R6 is my go-to), I entered the Fuji world with an EXCELLENT X-T3, including a few lenses. Of course, I'll not part with any of it, in hopes to pass something worthwhile down to my 4 Grandchildren! Keep up the good work. We all look forward to your inspiration!

I heard that UV filters can potentially scratch or damage the lens in the event of a drop/ shattering, but I'm thinking since one would be carrying it on a strap, the camera falling is not very likely for someone leisurely walking around somewhat quiet streets and would serve the purpose of protecting it against dust and stuff flying into it? I mean, if something got on, you could just take the UV one off and delay cleaning, I suppose. Everything is a major overthink when you just start out sigh. Gorg pics
