It’s already to big for me but would be perfect in the size of Bam with two stereo line channels.

What is the 12-bit DAC chip ID? I'm skeptical it's real 12-bit.
@DenisCazajeux7 ай бұрын
ADC chips are ADC121 from TI and DAC are AD5621 from Analog Devices. Real 12-bit converters. The resolution is a bit increased due to the analog companding.

Can this take a eurorack signal?
@Space_pulse11 ай бұрын
I thought I read somewhere it will take up to 12v, so I am hoping so. My experience with Eurorack output modules is that they have pretty low headroom and kinda cheap components. Have better luck plugging straight to my mixer sometimes. Would love a nice portable mixer for euro sessions.
@tanguyf742 Жыл бұрын
Hi amazing mixer super beautiful too I saw this detail online “ Whenever a channel is muted, the signal is routed to the Alternate output. You can use this output for recording purposes or for sending the channel to an external effect” Can you set the amount of the signal going to the alternate output? And so input 5 and 6 could be used as effects return ?:)
@denniswaakopreijers11511 ай бұрын
I think output knob of the muted track is the send level. And you only use input 6 eg, as it is a stereo input 😊 @tanguyf742

But it’s digital ?
@matzkowski79369 ай бұрын
this is from the Website: „BIM is a 12-bit stereo delay unit inspired by some studio delay processors built in the early 80s. These monophonic processors have been renowned for the quality and musicality of their sound. The processing was mainly analog (companders, limiters, low-pass filters, feedback path,…), and the signal was converted to digital just for the delay section, using 12-bit AD/DA converters and some RAM memory chips. The advantage of this technology is particularly obvious when the sound is feedbacked many times through the whole analog and 12-bit circuitry. You’ll hear a sweet degradation and dark damping that the 100% digital delay boxes can’t offer. When we designed BIM, we wanted to create a unique, modern and versatile effects processor based on this 80’s technology. We managed to mix the fabulous sound of an old 12-bit digital delay with modern features such as stereo processing, extra FXs, many user presets, MIDI control, tap tempo, compact size… therefore BIM is the best of both worlds! BIM is the perfect companion for the musician, producer, sound engineer or live performer who is looking for a unique, warm and musical delay processor.“

I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to replace the valve dbx 386 with this unit for my guitar with digital system & a lot of effects..I like the Dbx make warmer my sound but still needs to be warmed up, compacted and also with digital systems(Mod Dwarf)I have great effects but it has too many resonances on the highs and needs more dynamics so on paper it seems ideal. Mybe is perfect combine it with the dbx but I must sell the Dbx if I want the Boum :(. Last question : Can you create & save your preset ? Thank you ! Ps Important, I don't use Microphone..

Love mine but only have one complain : the saturation it's very hard, even on the first option just a bit turning on the Drive knob already distort the sound a lot. This makes impossible to use the saturation on the master bus, which is my goal. If a mk2 version comes in the future, please make a subtle saturation on the first config.

Can’t this be achieved with a VST plugin like the echo boy for instance? Why do people use outboard? Is there a massive difference in the sound quality? I never understood it
@leftmono10163 жыл бұрын
Some people prefer hardware, if you prefer software that’s a huge financial bonus! I went from all hardware to all software and back to hardware over the last 30 years or so. These days, if you took all my hardware and gave me the choice of software or nothing, I’d take nothing. But everyone is different 😀
@jamesrand1743 жыл бұрын
A really reasonable question and it’s a matter of resources. If you were getting into production then this is an extravagant purpose that can be achieved about 90% as good by j delay or echoboy… BUT I have the cash and dropped it on this and have to say it breathes more dynamic and sounds much more characterful than either of those excellent plugins. I mix records for a living and usually use plugins but I always use this with my vocal alongside my CXM-1978. It’s special sauce. OTO machines if you read this🥂. Incredible box.

Why do people read books? Listen to records? Write love letters? Visit Paris to see the Mona Lisa? All these things can be achieved with a computer too, yet many of us prefer to do them outside the box if we can.

would you recommend any similar sounding but cheaper, would like to get a similar sounding unit and their reverb but don't have £900!!
@VincentsVideoVisions3 жыл бұрын
@@ianbroome6652 Well, I don't know about 'similar' sounding per se but there are a lot of great reverbs and delays that you can pick up that would come out to be far less than these OTO units. For reverbs, there's many stellar options: Source Audio Ventris, Eventide Space, GFI Systems Specular Tempus, Meris Mercury 7, Roland RV-500, and many more. For digital delays you also have loads of options and it really just depends on what features you want. I think a great all-around delay unit is the Eventide Timefactor. For character I think the Meris Polymoon is great. These units are often fairly cheap on the used market. If you buy used on Reverb or eBay you could get a reverb and a delay for roughly the price of one of these OTO units new. There's also some other products that combine reverb and delay and some of them offer incredible value. The Mooer Ocean Machine runs about $230 brand new (USD) and is a total bargain for what you get.

@@VincentsVideoVisions thank you for the advice and information. I'll give those a look. I've been looking at a few bits on youtube routing out to an fx then back into a mixer. I don't think its overpriced. For the build quality, the components used and the sound it delivers its spot on. I think they're future classics and will keep their value or probably gain in value.
