This sounds like a great idea. I wish there was a group for men, I keep looking but haven't found one yet. My wife of 20 years unexpectedly died on 1/5/24, she was 52 years old. She was just a little tired and wanted to nap in her recliner for a bit. Checked on her 2 hours later but she was clearly gone. Grief is by far the worst wound that I've ever experienced.

I loved this video. I am a widow of 1 year and 7 days. Thank you for sharing the stories in the scriptures about widows. I have attended a Christian based course called Griefshare which has been very helpful. However, I think that Pastor Lasater's focus first on helping widows heal is so important. Not all widows have the religious background that I have so I think focusing on healing and support first will create a longing for being involved in a religious setting.

Although I am a male, it should not matter, for grief is grief. My beloved bride went to God 2 years, 3 months and 26 days ago, after 4 decades of an active romance. But this doesn't mean we are done. It doesn't mean that "it's over". I'm 73 and my express train to heaven and to my bride is likely a short time away. I believe in God and I believe in heaven. I fully believe Jean and I will be together again.....as long as I will it to be so.....and if I pray unceasingly for this reunion. I don't consider myself to technically be a widower, for I believe my Jean is still my bride. I will ALWAYS love her. I will not let her go. I will not say goodbye. I will only say hello.
