Audix never had that much of a brand recognition as far as I know, but I remember buying three "kits" for our local student radio some 20 years ago. We went for Yamaha mixers and Audix handheld condenser microphones. I also bought the same model of Audix for my own personal money and used that when I recorded my "Show" from my student housing. I always enjoyed the sound of it, but I think this is the only microphone I have owned that have died on me...

That's unfortunate about your mic and maybe just 1 off as I had no issues with any Audix gear over the years also mine is a probably a newer Audix version and all has been great so hopefully nothing negative happens to it.

After many reverb pedals the best everrrr for me was the Neunaber reverb pedal. Truly gorgeous 😍 but for all my gigs now I just use the Nux Atlantic dual reverb delay pedal. Keep Mt Neunaber for out there gigs ❤

Good morning Sir l love your channel. However the mirror image is a turn off. The smallest child would know that on any saxophone your left hand is always above your right hand. Keep it real please in the future.

I used to have it on the reverse camera on my phone but now I upgraded and use a proper video camera so no more reverse images.

After having heard the demo of this I wonder what (if any) difference there is between the MK1 (the one you got) and the MK2,,,

@@iantrewhella9470 I just found out. The MK2 has got a golden grille, and is supposed better than the MK1 in a few ways "Whereas the original R102 rolls off sharply above 5kHz, the Mk II has its -3dB point around 13kHz "

Small diaphragm condenser mics seem to work best all round for recording sax capturing a natural sound in my extensive testing.

Great video Ian! Thank you very much for doing it. It's very interesting to hear how different mics capture the saxophone sound. I had excellent results with an unexpected microphone, the Shure SM81 which is mostly used for drums overhead. Its death plain and even response help to get really nice saxophone takes.

I have this one, it is very good for the price, I feel it kind of makes my sound e little more honkey than my natural sound. I just tried another super cheap mic CAD GXL 1200 that I feel sounds a bit more natural

I plug it straight in to my Zoom Q8 camera but if you don't use the zoom then you could plug it into a soundcard with phantom power.

I bought a yts52 intermediate as a back up. Same as the 62 but plastic key touches and less engraving, it quickly became my main horn.
