TOP has said himself that he is very sensitive, and I am not suprised that the hate he received from some vocal people and media has made him feel sorry towards tbe other Bigbang members and also put him off of performing in Korea again. Fortunately the Squid Games was Netflix, his affordable, good wine (advertised in Still Life) - although sold in shops in Korea, was an international affair. His involvement in the now cancelled Dear Moon project was also international. I assume the album he has been working on for the last 7 years, with its accompanying film - that helped him to get through difficult times - will also be recorded and released outside of Korea too. He also said in an interview in 2022 that Bigbang's music and TOP's music are quite different and that he wants fresh new challenges and that he no longer saw himself as part of an idol group, so I don't think he could pretend to be comfortable performing with Bigbang again. If he does return, it would have to be because he shares a music and image taste with them again. Although it seems that TOP sees it that way, I can't really see that his incident has actually harmed Bigbang very much at all. In 2020 they were booked to perform at Coachella - until the festival was cancelked due to Covid. Still Life was a great success when released in 2022 with Perfect chart all kills - and topping the Korean charts for some weeks and also charts around the world. They also won an award for the song for their vocals - all with TOP still in the group. The VIP fandom was genuinely devastated about TOP leaving. Daesung nearly left the entertainment industry as a result! The line in GD's song "You're welcome back home" is also generally assumed to be a message, at least partly, aimed at TOP - offering a way back to them whenever or if ever he wants it. The VIP community would welcome him back too, I am sure. I think it is maybe TOP's own feelings and hurt about the hate he keeps getting from some parts of the Korean public and media, that made him want to stop performing in Korea and no longer be part of the "idol group" culture. I am sad, but support him in his choices. I don't actually see Bigbang as an Idol Group though. They are simply talented artists and performers, whose appeal crosses over limitations like age group, gender, international boundaries and music genres.
