I'm really happy you reacted to mafumafu!! He has a lot of really good songs, I hope you'll react to more from him! If you want to hear his female voice, I recommend his original "I wanna be a girl" and a cover for "Turing love", the latter is usually sang by 2 people, but he sang it in a duet with his female persona lmao

Always love more VoicePlay! VoicePlay is my favorite group! They are all insanely talented and not just vocally. They are 100% indie. Check out the credits in their video descriptions to see how very, very much they do for themselves...from arrangements to video editing. They have a very active community who daily seek out reactions to their work (and to bass singer Geoff Castellucci's solo channel). React to them regularly and you'll see us flock to your channel! We're really good about liking and subscribing too.

The 'sky' shot was actually a 3D rendered environment put together in the Unreal Engine by the groups high tenor, Eli Jacobson, as are the rest of the visuals in the background, the ships on the water, etc. That specific shot was probably captured in the computer, but the rest of the video was shot in front of giant LED wall that was displaying the 3D environment, like how they filmed shows like the Mandalorian.

VP decided to put the rap in in their arrangement of this - it is not in the original - great job right there! They do sometimes layer voices to get a fuller sound. You are right, for an independent group they are amazing - they have way more talents than just singing. Thoroughly nice chaps too! 😉🌹🕊

FYI - Geoff's lowest note is a B0.... second white key from the bottom of a piano. Backgrounds were created by Eli in Unreal Engine.

Ah, some of VoicePlay's creme de la creme! This used to be my favorite (not that I hate any of them) VP song, until their cover of Thriller came out. Yes, THAT Thriller. And yes, J. None has his own channel and is on Spotify. Geoff Castellucci, the bass, has his own channel too, of Deep Bass Covers. Fully worth checking out. 💙

Great reaction, thanks! All of those strange, stray sounds were from Layne - including that amazing creaking door when J walked in. Layne also arranged this one. He did bring in an additional song writer to do the rap lyrics. One of the things I always respect about them is that they don't hesitate to call someone in to help - and to learn from - when they think it's necessary. They did it more often in the past, as they've absorbed more they need that support less. What's most important - at least to me - is that they keep growing. They are always challenging themselves to do more and the results are phenomenal.

You really have to do My mother told me, another of my fav is Dragonborn comes, there is something with game music... "Sleeping in the cold below" (Warframe) is another and their covers of Imagine Dragons...I can go on and on...They are just not good singers but their videos are very well done!

I enjoyed your reaction- thanks for coming back to Voice Play! Yes they do all of their own production and Eli (their bald, rock tenor) does their lighting and technical effects. Just to refresh your memory, J. None was the one that did the rapping part and is a former full time member of this group. J. None left the group in 2021 to join the Navy but he comes back frequently when he is on military leave to sing with them so we think of him as a part time member of the group. J. None sings bass with the Navy band but has an incredible voice range and beatboxing and rapping skills. His style of rapping really fit in well here as it is a battle song and his lyrics included the military speak. For more of J. None rapping with Voice Play, you can check out "Superstition" or "Mission Jingle Bells". J. None does have his own solo channel that showcases more of his rapping, beatboxing, voice range, and production skills. If you like Viking theme, definitely check out their cover of "My Mother Told Me". Their cover of "Hoist The Colors will also blow you away!😃

You mentioned highnotes, their queen in 5 min medley and panic at the disco in 4 min (part 1 and 2) as well as voiceplays covers of attention, the death of a bachelor, dream on and the lion sleeps tonight are the first that come to my mind.

Yeah, you're back again with VoicePlay 🎉 That was the first song I heard by them and it got me hooked ❤ "My mother told me" is amazing too, but you simply can't go wrong with anything by them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Eli channeling his inner viking or pirate is always a treat, so I would suggest "Hoist the colours" too 🙏🏼

This was filmed in a rooom with led walls. Eli programmed the back ground. The air conditioning was out so they were sweating the whole time. My mother told me is a great one too. Miracle of sound gave them 10/10 ale horns for this

i can only hope you are not referring to VoicePlay in that comment. They are true artists in music FOR the art. Yes they use post production enhancement. So does almost, if not literally everyone these days. And for your comprehension, as a side note, NEITHER autotune NOR melodyne function for Geoff's low notes. That's all him.

The layering they do on the vocal percussion is also pretty insane. I dunno if this is in ya'lls interest, but they have a cover called Classical Chaos ft Rachel Potter. It's the iconic classicals, so no lyrics. It's super good, one of my favs and the makeup for the video was amazing! There's a channel called The Charismatic Voice, and she did an interview with Layne on this song. (I think she's got at least one other Layne interview, and one with Geoff too). He opens up the program and shows her all the different layering he did for that song, it's insane. Point being, they not only make a variety of sounds but also have a ton of layering to get some of those effects. Things that might sound impossible are just loads of layers and some post tweaking. They can't recreate all their music live, but I wouldn't call it cheating.
