Whew, it kind of seems like you took a pretty harsh vocal and just made it harsher tbh. It really needs a notch cut at like 6-8k, there is a really digital crunch up there that is very un pleasant, keep doing what you’re doing though bro

I love the videos you make! What confuses me, though, is when people use plugins like 'The God Particle' or 'Orion' without considering shaping individual sounds first (using transient shapers, EQs, and compressors). These plugins can reveal issues and help correct them, like preventive maintenance. Starting with effects on the master bus and working down to individual tracks is known as a top-down approach, while the opposite is called a bottom-up approach. Using Orion on groups is more like working from the middle-adjusting either individual tracks or going straight to the master bus. I was curious to see what you adjusted, but it seems like you used other plugins instead, as if Orion wasn’t enough for you to just add an EQ to the kick.

If this were a mechanic analogy, it’s like the plugin "Orion" shows you that you might need more oil(EQ) for the engine to run well. But instead of just adding oil(EQ), you decided to rebuild the entire engine(8 Plugins), then also added the oil(EQ) and said, 'Look, I fixed the issue.' It almost feels like this is some kind of WAVES plugin promotion video.

Thank you, I did some level balance and phase alignment for the drums. These types of plugins have always been tough for me to use they’re usually really good at one thing. This one just makes the kick super “phat N heavy” whether you want it or not and there’s no way to reduce that effect. It just seems like that plugin belongs on an aux.

It's a cool plugin but like you said very limited and won't always give desired results, unless you mix into it sculpting the sounds going into it knowing how Orion is going to react.

So far, the best results that I’ve gotten out of it is in parallel to claps, kicks, snares and toms. I have not gotten results with it on my drum buss and that’s probably because they’re live drums. I feel like it’d do well on hip-hop drum buss.

Just have the software version, ran my vocals through it last night after taking it through my normal slate digital chain and was really impressed! feels like a staple for sure. I mean it really put the final finish on the vocals. It tamed the highs beautifully and I was able to bring the warmth out and add thickness to the vocals finally something that just works!.🔥

Yes, 3 or 4 months ago ssl released an update that allows the controller to control third party plugins
