Another very nice piece! Again, as a fellow SAS-20 owner, I'm strongly feeling the character of the sounds and, if I'm not mistaken, you have also incorporated some of the SAS-20's drums? I also appreciate how the video shows your production and processing of sounds in the DAW. I can get some good tips from this as it's an area I need to improve on. The mix is very nicely balanced here!

Sorry for late response. I was in a hurry. True. I have used a SAS-20 drums. You have really good hearing!!! I'v recorded all and used with amigo sampler plugin. With amigo I can easily select kick/drum and use keyboard to play. No need to chop them in the wave editor. Thank You for good words. Have a nice day! BTW, a new SAS-20 sound dropped to my channel! Two days of work.. ehhhym... of fun!!! ;)

Very nice! I love the SAS-20 tones - smooth and a little dark = atmospheric - unmistakable for me as a fellow SAS-20 owner. I also appreciate seeing the DAW screenshot to see how you've constructed the track from parts. It's more or less how I do it. Did you use any of the SAS-20's rhythm elements here? I used to record a few bars and adjust the tempo in the DAW to get them looping properly, then combine them with drum samples/plugins. Eventually, I modded my SAS-20 so that I can trigger its analog drums independently via a MIDI to CV converter. In addition, I added a mod to sync the SAS-20's built in patterns to other devices - mainly for fun than serious music. Most of its accompaniment patterns are very cheesy but one or two are cool! Thanks for sharing - I look forward to hearing more!

Hi! This is my first synthesizer hardware ever. For me, who was used vst plugins only, is soo different. Yes, the sound is so different to vst's that I use. I was, I am in schock! Now I feal like this korg has soul inside. Mayby all hardware synthesizer has souls? Can't compare. For me it sounds great! Rhythms build in this korg sas-20 sounds cheap imo. But this is my first impresion and may be changed. I am not 100% sure but this synths was the first synths ever with rythms inside! btw, I did not used any of rhythms from this korg in this music. I have sas cartridge sc-02 Easy Listening too but not yet had time to check it more than just test if it works. I recorded all drums build in this korg and used three of them in my new music I am working in right now. I don't have any experiance with loops-waves too much. I don't like to use others waves because they are not mine. I prefere to generate sound than use others sound. So... I have to learn how to make a good loops in this daw. I have anoying CLICKS between bars. I know that crossfading exist but I am looking for something faster. Have to find a good tutorial. Maybe a wave edditor is my answer? Thank you for the sub. I subbed to Your channel too. PS. I am trying to put as much information about how I build my music to make a backup if my HD fails me. Time for to backup!

@@pierrenagonio I have quite a lot of hardware keyboards, mostly things I could pick up cheaply, including the SAS-20. A lot of them are 'home keyboards' with presets sounds and accompaniment rhythms and most of them to be honest do not sound very inspiring. They usually have just one or two sounds that are nice but they are fun to play with and I also enjoy modding the electronics. The SAS-20 is an exception, however, as it produces rich sounding tones and all of them have character. I have a few 'proper' synthesizers as well but I tend to mostly use plugins when recording tracks or when creating full pieces and then add some hardware sounds into the mix. The built in drums and patterns of the SAS-20 are probably best used that way. I like the hi-hat, snare and cymbal sounds but the bass drum is not great, so mixing them with samples and processing them with effects is the way I do it. However, the drums aren't the SAS-20's best point so it's not really worth the effort to record them and make loops unless you really want to. If you do though, the simplest approach is to record a rhythm at the slowest tempo and then chop the audio into separate drum sounds to save as individual wave files which can be loaded into a sample player. But I think Sitala has a beat slicing function, so you could probably use that? I have three SAS cartridges which I think is the full set? According to the manual, Korg planned to release more but I think they never did as digital technology rapidly replaced these old analog machines. I guess they abandoned that plan. There are a couple of interesting patterns on each cartridge but most of them are disappointing. I wish Korg had released a 'Techno Pop' cartridge for the SAS-20 because Yellow Magic Orchestra were the biggest group in Japan at that time. Cheers!

Hi! Nice to meet another retro guy! KFF is amazing cartridge made by Kim. U can talk to creator on forum64 de (Eng/De language). There are 83 pages about this cart on that forum already and answers for your questions if I remember. Search for Kung Fu Flash Cartridge. BTW, KFF has few cons like buttons on the top, no full disk drive emulate and no file sorting (I think) but realy good search. DriveSort app, to sort Your entire sd card, works realy good. But if I was U I will consider to check ultimate64 cartridge (my dream) first. Next, check raspberrypi0 + shield = pi1541 (I am happy to have it). Both of them has full disk drive emulation. At the end decide. So... KFF is realy fast cart and there are plenty of crt files with many programs on the web so... get it!!! ;)

@@pierrenagonio Thanks. I'll check out the Forum64! For a long time I've had a Pi 3 laying around I haven't found a real use for yet. Played a little with Home Assistent but so far deemed it to be too cumbersome when the sum of Hue, SmartThings and Tuya can do 99% of what I want. I have a pi-hat on the way. Has been "for ages" since the incident at Royal Mail. Of course the hat I wanted was the fancy one shaped like a 5.25" floppy - which I only could find in the UK. I also have a SixtyClone board on the way - same story from UK as well. I have letters arriving from Italy much much faster(!) Arghhh. Hadn't it been the 466 board I'd like to build I'd ordered "Der alte Bastler" board instead which is available from many (and in many qualities). That board only seens available in the 407 variant unfortunately. Yeah I know the KFF is not a full drive emulation. I would like to get the Ultimate cartridge but at the moment it's out of stock and probably takes a long time. Also I'm a bit unsure whether to go for the new made with Lattice FPGA or try to hunt down an older Xilinx. The reason the guy behind it switched is because of the chip shortage. On the other hand I can't help wonder which will have the longest support. How many differences are there? Is it a simple matter of compiling source code to either FPGA - in which case I believe both will be supported equally long. Or will he switch back when Xilinx sort out their supply issues or stick to Lattice? If only the pi-hat will soon show up then I'm in no hurry other than perhaps the KFF (unfortunately the best is again is from UK - arghhh). At least I have a few fast loaders to start with - an Epyx and a very fast Danish one I also had back then although I'm unsure if it's the exact same version - that is noticeably faster than the Epyx. Powerred by a pi 3 at least it's not the processor of the drive that is the bottleneck when dealing with lots of files and folders. Also the support of USB drives in newer firmware is a huge plus.

@@HifiCentret RPI3 Bplus is amazing computer. I did many stuff with it. Starting from video monitoring sending pictures to my online server via modem with sim card which was used when I was on vacation, through all kind of emulations, ending with electro piano with uploaded by me wav sound recorded from mini mooog prodigy emulator, right now. I am using real old retro Commodore computers but I want to build emu once, the bare metal c64 (bmc64). Have all components in home but... maybe later ;) and I am not much excperienced in soldering too. RPi Zero + Epyx Fastload is here too, in my home! No more external power supply and full disk drive emulator. It's like... UltimateIIplus cartridge for poor peoples ;) I like it very much but no time to use it right now. I have chill from c64 era now. I am focused on others thing, like programing now. But for me Ultimate is must to have. Price... Yea, price... Not for that price! I think better to get Ultimate 64 than cart. BTW I tried to get UIIplus once from websites like ebay. Found one, used one, but... I was scamed... waiting for a case in the court. We will see.
@HifiCentret Жыл бұрын
@@pierrenagonio No doubt the RPi3 is a nice computer - just hadn't found a use case for it since I bought it :D I've always found it too slow (drive random access) for a little generic computer. The microSD choice is beyond me - slow as molasses - if only they allowed a small SSD without the cumbersome USB configuration. I have other alarm systems including on the SmartThings platform - two systems with video so not even there I found a use case. I did research whether or not it could be used for a media center. I'd really like it to play DVD and BR using a USB BR drive - no luck finding software for that use. I've not tried the BMC64. Wonder how it compares to "The C64" which I have both mini and full size. But to be honest - it's not the same as the real deal. If it had cartridge and perhaps also serial and tape port it would be something I'd consider giving a try. Yeah the Ultimate64 seems nice too. Not the real deal - but close enough and it's not an emulation in it's classic sense. However at the moment it's on the shelf next to hens teeth and the boxes of unobtanium. Still I'm sure I'll find a self build clone a bit more fun. There's rumors that the guy from Individual Computers will make a C64 Reloaded MK3 - that would be an FPGA implementation a bit like Ultimate64 - but he holds the C64 license so the potential it could be even better and at least not require you to install a ROM on first boot.
