Very nice! I love the SAS-20 tones - smooth and a little dark = atmospheric - unmistakable for me as a fellow SAS-20 owner. I also appreciate seeing the DAW screenshot to see how you've constructed the track from parts. It's more or less how I do it. Did you use any of the SAS-20's rhythm elements here? I used to record a few bars and adjust the tempo in the DAW to get them looping properly, then combine them with drum samples/plugins. Eventually, I modded my SAS-20 so that I can trigger its analog drums independently via a MIDI to CV converter. In addition, I added a mod to sync the SAS-20's built in patterns to other devices - mainly for fun than serious music. Most of its accompaniment patterns are very cheesy but one or two are cool! Thanks for sharing - I look forward to hearing more!

Hi! This is my first synthesizer hardware ever. For me, who was used vst plugins only, is soo different. Yes, the sound is so different to vst's that I use. I was, I am in schock! Now I feal like this korg has soul inside. Mayby all hardware synthesizer has souls? Can't compare. For me it sounds great! Rhythms build in this korg sas-20 sounds cheap imo. But this is my first impresion and may be changed. I am not 100% sure but this synths was the first synths ever with rythms inside! btw, I did not used any of rhythms from this korg in this music. I have sas cartridge sc-02 Easy Listening too but not yet had time to check it more than just test if it works. I recorded all drums build in this korg and used three of them in my new music I am working in right now. I don't have any experiance with loops-waves too much. I don't like to use others waves because they are not mine. I prefere to generate sound than use others sound. So... I have to learn how to make a good loops in this daw. I have anoying CLICKS between bars. I know that crossfading exist but I am looking for something faster. Have to find a good tutorial. Maybe a wave edditor is my answer? Thank you for the sub. I subbed to Your channel too. PS. I am trying to put as much information about how I build my music to make a backup if my HD fails me. Time for to backup!

@@pierrenagonio I have quite a lot of hardware keyboards, mostly things I could pick up cheaply, including the SAS-20. A lot of them are 'home keyboards' with presets sounds and accompaniment rhythms and most of them to be honest do not sound very inspiring. They usually have just one or two sounds that are nice but they are fun to play with and I also enjoy modding the electronics. The SAS-20 is an exception, however, as it produces rich sounding tones and all of them have character. I have a few 'proper' synthesizers as well but I tend to mostly use plugins when recording tracks or when creating full pieces and then add some hardware sounds into the mix. The built in drums and patterns of the SAS-20 are probably best used that way. I like the hi-hat, snare and cymbal sounds but the bass drum is not great, so mixing them with samples and processing them with effects is the way I do it. However, the drums aren't the SAS-20's best point so it's not really worth the effort to record them and make loops unless you really want to. If you do though, the simplest approach is to record a rhythm at the slowest tempo and then chop the audio into separate drum sounds to save as individual wave files which can be loaded into a sample player. But I think Sitala has a beat slicing function, so you could probably use that? I have three SAS cartridges which I think is the full set? According to the manual, Korg planned to release more but I think they never did as digital technology rapidly replaced these old analog machines. I guess they abandoned that plan. There are a couple of interesting patterns on each cartridge but most of them are disappointing. I wish Korg had released a 'Techno Pop' cartridge for the SAS-20 because Yellow Magic Orchestra were the biggest group in Japan at that time. Cheers!
