A lot of times they know why you’re upset they just pretend like they don’t because they’re the majority in numbers and it’s just you. It’s kind of like taking a vote amongst themselves without actually having to take a vote amongst themselves because that’s the workplace culture for that particular office. I’ve experienced this and it’s amazing how obsessed they are with black people in the work place, specifically black women. I’ve had them walk up to me and just randomly start interrogating me asking me a bunch of personal questions about myself. Some of them I answer because it’s something that’s OK to share, but then other personal information that’s important, I’m just like I don’t discuss my personal business. It’s crazy because I’m like why TF are they so concerned with me, last time I checked, I’m not a celebrity. What’s with all this attention?

I’ve been working since I was 16, now I’m 35. As a BW, my advice would be to ignore the comments from them as much as you can, you don’t want to be painted as a “troublemaker” if you confront them because they will do their best to get you fired. If WFH is an option for you, reach for that option! WFH is the best for BW. Congratulations on your degree and getting into your respective career field which is a great and stable one btw. Blessings to you! Subscribed 😉

Costa Rica is a beautiful country but its infrastructure, amenities, public facilities are completely third world. Went there once and rented a car....huge mistake. Oh, and the food scene is terrible. There is no such thing as Costa Rican cuisine except rice with black beans. Anything that has flavor is a take on Mexican, Italian or American food. Again, beautiful landscapes and scenery but simply not worth more than one visit.

Been going there for decades and somewhat agree if you have no clue. You can't deny the produce is top rate fresh so you're going to get quality. I Get rice and beans fatigue unless you get the Caribbean version. There are plenty of awesome places and I prefer more traditional family dishes not popularized. I love the picadillos especially Flor de Itabo when in season.The Costa Rican tamal is distinct than Mexico and perhaps the best version, and I've tried them all. In your defense there are many places that are too greasy disappointments and not healthy.. I am visiting again next month and staying in Mal Pais/Santa Teresa. The road infrastructure there is awful and I suppose part of the charm with no major hotels. In general the roads are OK, and you have challenges in the mountains and some beach downs.
@uliseszarate6561
@uliseszarate6561 18 күн бұрын
@siamiam4306 Costa Rica is the size of some of Mexico's smallest states and I'm not trying to compare but you stated the "tamal is distinct from Mexico." Do you realize how many types of tamales there are in Mexico? The state of Oaxaca alone has many with an infinite amount of fillings. There is no such thing as one Mexican tamal and that exemplifies the huge chasm in cuisine alone if you're comparing CR to Mexico but there's no point in that. I'm not comparing Costa Rica to any of the dozen countries I've visited in Latin America but I will say that it's the least appealing to me for a return visit taking into account the cost, the infrastructure, the quality and variety of food and the disposition to serve and please that you find elsewhere. I'll always remember the words of the owner of our hotel in Quepos who was from Poland. He told us nothing in this country happens without foreigners. The climate is so good that Costa Ricans are by nature very conformist and lazy. When we showed him the brochures of tours we were contemplating to take he said "you've seen one rain forest, you've seen them all!" 🤣 He was absolutely correct as a years long foreign resident of Costa Rica. The country simply doesn't move forward in any regard and lives off its promoting itself as a natural paradise. Once again, beautiful landscapes which you pay to see in US dollars at high prices just like everything else because the country only produces bananas and coffee...everything is imported. Anyway, glad you enjoy your trips there and our trip was ok but simply failed to meet the overly hyped expectations.
@siamiam4306
@siamiam4306 18 күн бұрын
I hear you but you speak with both sides of your mouth. Costa Rica is only 19,000 sq miles wide, yet you continue to compare it with Mexico. Mexico is awesome and it has a renowned cuisine, and among my favorites. I stand by what I said about the Costa Rican tamal. I'll also state I didn't care for Molé in Oaxaca. Peru and Ecuador is where diversity of cuisine is, more than Mexico, but people don't visit CR for cuisine. They go to experience the richest biodiversity on Earth which contains 5% of our plantes organisms. I've been on Mexican beach vacations and it's overdeveloped ... which leads me to your comment on roads. I take this was a singular experience in Costa Rica, and you chose Quepos. The road is perfectly fine on that route. Decades ago, it was gravel from Parrita. I drove through months ago without issues. If you expected accommodations at major beach developments, buffet layout and a high-rise beachfront, not sure why you chose Quepos. It's a fishing village, but I suspect you night have navigated the hill to Manuel Antonio. Here is where I'll call BS; food options are totally fine. Ya I paid 10x at Samui then I do at Thailand - but it was on point. ......... Dude in the end, you expand and continue to disparage and define Ticos are lazy, conformist, farmers and elevate a gripe to another beyond I initial greviences. For the moment I'll take your word you drove a rental to Quepos, and endeared yourself to a Polish muse. and couldn't cope.I'll give you that Costa Rica is a expensive travel option and I can't wrap my head around it. especially since the dollar fell yesterday below 500 CRC. That said, heading to Nicoya in three weeks and my Airbnb cost is 5xa my Sphinx view last April in Giza, which confuses your point. I don't think anyone would've entertained me on a debate about tamales in Aswan or Alexandria about infrastructure or cuisine. ........ I sense a disparaging tone beyond a valid criticism vs. a country that didn't harm you and sustains itself with energy of flows her territory. and sustains her energy naturally. You might want to Google that before you mention infrastructure. I also spend months in Thailand with else majeste. I love travel to travel and appreciate challenges and differences without being an arse., I love traveling, and roughing it in say India or Nepal........ I think you're naive especially since you lodged in Quepos. I didn't listen to a Polish but but depended on a trusted Sherpa on a hike to Everest Base Camp and ate like a dog with carved trails many set before many ahead of me. tt wasn't a lazy trip - trust me, but I get you disarranging Costa Rica thinking it's a banana republic. Maybe Cancun would've been a better option for you with tall hotels, infrastructure and cheap buffets. I get you disparaging CR for a motive. That is your issue to contend with.

I have encountered many scenarios in the work place. I try to stay true to my race, but also true to my God and His laws. I worked at the phone company. This Black girl and White girl started at the same time...trained together....sat together at the board once they were official. One day the Black girl stood abruptly yelling to the White girl, "DON'T CALL ME COLORED GIRL!" I went on the jack and told the Black girl to sit down. Then the White girl called me on the jack. She told me what happened and with a trembly voice she said, "I meant no harm. But, Leah, what do you want me to call you?" "Just call me Leah." I smiled. Trying to make light of the situation. Later I stopped the Black girl in the hall and told her there was no reason for her to get so upset. We use that term among ourselves. Another time a White co- worker feeling a little stressed told me she had told a pollock joke and one of the ladies had gotten offended. "Leah," she asked, " Would you get upset if I told a Black joke?" "No," I answered. Then continued. "If you wouldn't get mad if I told a White joke." I found most of my problems came from Black women co- workers. Black women are catty, insecure and down right jealous and bitchy. I let a lot of things go. I don't like arguing and I'm not confrontational like NeNe Leakes. But when I feel it's appropriate I will speak my mind. Afterwards, as far as I'm concerned, IT'S OVER. I don't think of it anymore. 1st scenario. I took 10 calls on an agent. She missed 3. I called her from the board. She refused. So, I went to her. We went over the calls. A page was missing was the reason for the error. I gave her credit. The 2nd error, I don't remember the case, but I gave her credit. The 3rd there was no excuse and the error stayed on her record. She got mad and unbeknownst to me she had reported me to the GCO. I didn't know until I was called in the office. The girl said I embarrassed her in front of her peers. I was told to apologize. I told her if I felt the need to apologize no one would have to tell me. I would do it on my own. But she brought it on herself when she refused to come from the board. The GCO said another complaint I had against me was one of the girls reported that I don't speak. I looked at this woman fury almost drowning me. But I spoke in a controlled firmed voice. "I asked the agent to step from the board as required. She refused, so I went to her. If she was embarrassed it was what she chosed. This other girl, when I speak to her she throws her head in the air and ignores me. At least when I speak my smile reach my eyes not like you. You just skin your lips over your teeth and say nothing! Don't you call me in here about some petty mess like this again!" And I walked out. 2nd I was sitting at my desk when an agent I had never seen before called me on the jack. She says, "You shouldn't wear your hair like that. It does nothing for you." I don't easily get upset...but sometimes, Ugh! People have opinions just like everyone has assholes. So, I let it go. But this chick isn't thru. She kept going on and on. I began to boil. Hey! I'm thinking. I don't know you. I don't care what you think. Let it rest will you. I turned, looked at this nonunconsequential, no shape granny looking woman and I let her have it. "And you shouldn't wear pants! Your stomach look like your butt and your butt look like your stomach!" And I hung up the phone. And just as quick I forgot that lady exist...and our CONVERSATION. 3rd An agent called me...she couldn't understand the toll operator. I took the call. This White woman said she didn't understand why the girl didn't understand her. I apologized and asked for her request. She began gurgling. I told her I didn't understand her. She began to berate me saying I was as stupid as the rest of the R&R operators. She hit a nerve. Here I go again. Whites like to play pranks on Blacks. It can get tiring. "Well, how do you expect anybody to understand you when you sound like you got a mouth full of shit!" I yelled into the phone. She pretend to be upset. She was going to report me. Just to show her I wasn't afraid I gave her my name, my supervisor, my address and floor. Then I hung up. One last one. I was working at this large shipping company. One agent dropped a call to me. We had just had a meeting about not transferring calls...and dropped calls a No.. No! The customer had been credited $200. Another agent debited it back and recharged him. Now this agent who debbed it back didn't like me. No reason. Black women don't have to have a reason. They're just sick women. Some of them. I asked him did he know who transferred him. He said Sandra. Now...I had to put her in her place. I told him if he mind holding while I talked to Sandra. And that he would get his credit. Sandra, I began. I have a customer who says you transferred him to me. We just had a meeting about dropped calls. Why did you do that?" Sandra: "Because I got tired of talking to him." Me: "Well, why didn't you just put back thru the system?" She said nothing. Me: "Yolanda credited the customer and you debbed it back causing the problem." Yolanda: "I credited him ONCE and I'LL CREDIT HIM AGAIN!" Yolanda was a mean fat yellow girl that carried a lot of baggage from her childhood for being bullied. You could see Sandra freezing up as Yolanda turned to her. I just left. Went back to my desk, credited the customer and mailed him another credit letter. That Sandra wasn't thru with me. I come to work that Monday...this sick cow had cold dropped 25 calls on me. I had to report it. The calls are not traceable from the transferring agent so we just let it go and the mgr. spoke of it in the next meeting. But they didn't stop. Black women really try you. They stole from me. They ignored me. They bumped into me. Black women are horrible to other Black women. Sandra stopped me one day She says, "None of that beige matches, you know." I looked at this gigantic clumsy excuse for a woman and. .and I just begun to laugh. She looked befuddled. This cow looked like she forgot to take off her pajama top. Which made me laugh even more. I had on a light beige blouse and shiny soft khaki dress pants. I kept a sweater or jacket hanging in my cubicle for cold days in the office. It just happened to be this jacket. It wasn't part of my outfit. I never said a word to her. I mean, I could go on and on. I could talk about Blacks being friends with Whites and being on their sides against you..and how Black mgrs. act like they're afraid to correct Whites when Whites are wrong. Truly, if the truth be told, mostly Whites were nicer to me in the workplace than Blacks.
