I'm sure you've probably mentioned it but what month was this? We're hoping to do Switzerland in 2026 and when you were there the weather and traffic looks ideal. Thanks

Hi, I think it was the last week of May, start of June. The roads were blissfully quiet and the weather was perfect, the only thing was some of the passes were still shut due to snow….

Very welcome video, just before winter's soltice in a damp and grey Picardie! How beautiful is la Suisse! Stunning! A slight tug on the heartstrings as you are with your trusty GS. However..onward, obviously. 🤔😉

Hi Jane, I’m so glad you liked it and it is making me yearn for blue skies again. Now that I’m creating memories with the new bike, I can look back on the old one fondly without getting upset. Onwards indeed! 😁

What a great video, and thanks for sharing. A friend and I are going to Switzerland in mid-July next year. We’d planned on making the trip all about the passes but this series is making me think again. If you were going to Switzerland for the first time, which do you think you would choose - passes or grand tour?
@TwoWheeledDreamer2 сағат бұрын
Hi Simon, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I think I would do the Grand Tour over visiting just the passes, there are still quite a few passes involved and the variety of landscape was a complete pleasure for me. Or perhaps doing a bit of the tour and also taking in the major passes too! Either way, I’m sure you’ll love it! 😊

Great to see you had some sunshine! 😎 I agree with you that one of the beauties of touring by motorbike is that other bikers of any nationality will generally stop and chat due to the simple fact of a shared interest in bikes 👍 The Swiss scenery in the sunshine is hard to beat…

I was very lucky with the weather… it makes such a difference! I love the biking community for this reason, I get to chat to so many people I otherwise wouldn’t! 😊

A most watchable, enjoyable video, very well edited too. Stunning scenery and excellent, well surfaced roads as you would expect in Switzerland 🇨🇭. Nice pace, just taking it all in as touring by 🏍️ should be. Very much look forward to your follow up video but take your time Steve, your audience is steadily growing and like me, will be happy to wait am sure. Ride safe. 👍👏👏

Hi Steve, glad you enjoyed the video, yes, it’s a lovely area! I’m always forgetting to clean the screen, especially as I have it low for filming so I’m looking straight over the top of it! Safe riding for you too 😊

Why did you ride through Zurich and then sit in traffic like your in a car??? No way would I ride through a city if I didn't need to! You should of taken the boat tour at the falls, it's mad. The beauty of solo riding and camping as I have always found that a campsite will find a space for you to squeeze into for one night.

I'm guessing that FJ1200 at 6:32 has a new owner. It did 10K miles between 2006 and 2017 it had done nearly 10K by it's next MOT in 2018 It's done another 10K since then, which is pretty good going when you factor in COVID. Proof you don't have to spend £20K+ to go touring.
@Uniquecapture8 күн бұрын
Really enjoying this series thank you as it’s exactly the type of tour fancy doing. Bike security does worry me I have to say but I suppose that’s something you get used to.
@TwoWheeledDreamer8 күн бұрын
Hi, I’m so glad you’re enjoying this series! Since having my bike stolen on the tour immediately after this one, I am now ultra careful about where I leave my new bike. That said, sometimes it can’t always be secure parking so I now use several security devices and reassure myself that over many years of touring, I have only had one bad experience.
