I had no luck with Isons... I only ordered two plants from them bare root just to try them out. One lived one was dead. Contact to them through email about 4 days later they said they would apply the Lost amount to my account which was about just the cost of the plant not the shipping which was okay. Went to check my account I couldn't get into my account when I finally did it show no credit to my account. They kept telling me to call the number and I called the number and nobody would ever answer it was always recording so I'll never buy anything else for them. They can have my $15. I found a place here in Fayetteville North Carolina Bell seed who charges about $15 for a potted 1 gallon plant many different varieties of muscadines. No more bare roots for me

I hear the same story here. I don't treat and don't have any issues. I follow the Michael Bush approach and allow my bees to as natural as possible. One of my hives is over 7 years old with no requeening or treatments for anything. I only manage two hives.

This type of clay is still easy to grow in, as it is considered "fast draining" meaning it will drain a 1x1x1ft hole of water in under an hour easily.. and 4 hours is where it's considered "bad drainage"
@BiancoLand_
@BiancoLand_ 2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure where you are at but when it rains here, water sits in pools for over a day. It only stains fast in the summer when you have large cracks.

@@BiancoLand_same area lol, yours must be worse than mine. The "well drain test" of dig a 1x1x1ft hole and fill it with water and let it drain over night then fill it with water and time it is what I used. Seems to be the standard test for "well draining" You want to lose like 1-4 inches per hour of water in the hole.. Some sites say different numbers but that seems to be the most average number.

I have had some luck digging a “drain hole” next to the planting hole in my heavy red clay. Especially after heavy rain water will continuously seep out and keep a puddle there. But it keeps the root rot away. After the first year I fill it back in

"black goopy mucky clay' You must live in north texas! :) A thing I do when planting is 1) hole 4 times bigger than the current root ball. 2) In the center dig a hole at least 2' lower. I use post hole digger for that. Have not lost a plant yet.

Great video as usual Dimitri, thank you for sharing beyond your professional's side. It looks a lot of fat clay around, make sure those trees adjust well to such a demanding conditions. Spring is already booming in TX, definetively this summer is looking promissing hot. Do you work also on you Subaru?, mine reached 235k but I give it away, cost for some work did not justify keeping it. With such a big land you can build a quant camp, you teach quant content and the students will take care of your land, cheers

You peel from the bottom, not the stem. 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
@BiancoLand_
@BiancoLand_ 5 ай бұрын
I'll have to try the bottom. I find that often the top has some extra skip and space which makes the peeling easier. American often feel bananas from the stem as well though many other countries feel from the bottom.
@samsongao366
@samsongao366 5 ай бұрын
@@BiancoLand_ Most asian stuff is usually done by squeezing gently from the side to open or the stem if you want but it's harder ie lychee, longan, mangosteen, rambutan, passionfruit => examples of peeling from the bottom: any asian oranges, durian ( stick a knife and it'll open ), pomelo ( a bigger, better and sweeter version of grapefruit ). => Obviously, the much harder fruits is used by a knife & uses the method of overall profile to tell the ripeness. Why? Peeling from the bottom, usually indicates how ripe it is. More space = more ripe = less fruit = more concentrated juices. However, if the skin is shriveled up ie dried up or too much give => It's gone bad but if it's slightly shriveled up or have a slight give => it's the best. => Squeezing from the side and you tell from ripeness from the overall profile or the stem. For example: If the mangosteen stem ain't green. It ain't fresh. If it ain't breaking apart by squeezing, well it's unripe; don't eat or else very icky texture. Just wait until it's squeezable.
