"Ground breaking" would be a dependable truck that's affordable. I really don't want to take a chance with the dealer charging me $25k if that engine goes out at 100k miles. I can get a Ford 5.0 cheap at almost any junkyard and put it in my self without any special tooling and proprietary computers. My 2020 Camry was the worst new car I've ever owned. I'm glad that mistake was 1/3 the price of a Tundra. I never thought I would ever say Toyota has become a disappointment. Almost every vehicle is having major problems. Like they did with my Camry, Toyota saying the problems are normal ain't cutting it with the high dollar vehicles.

Just bought a 2018 Platinum. Do not get the 3rd Gen. Not only is it a knock-off F-150, but you need power and not an over-clocked V6 that explodes after 5K miles.

I don't see that any of these can compete with the Ford Maverick in features and price. If the Corolla pickup is as underwhelming as the Cross it will be a bomb.
