Excellent excellent presentation and a quick question I plan on installing a bow mounted minnkota trolling motor on the BACK of my boat. I have a rail and other stuff in the way in the front. Obviously, if it’s mounted on the back when the trolling motor turns left the boat will go right and vice versa. But if you use ipilot and possibly a heading sensor for your tracks and waypoints, will the trolling motor steer the boat properly, even though it’s mounted in the back?
@WannaFishAllDay2 күн бұрын
It’s gonna track based on the orientation of the motor regardless of placement but not sure how the weight of the boat will affect it bc it’s designed for bow placement, not the stern as you mentioned.

Great video, thank you! I currently have a Hobie but am looking into the AP, would it be possible to have you do a video on your electronics and how that is all situated including the mounts / bars you used? I have a similar electronics setup with 2 graphs and livescope / fpv hub the setup on the Hobie seems a bit more straightforward than the AP but that might just be because I'm very familiar with the Hobie.

You mentioned scuffing up the surface and adding silicone before applying the mount. Can you explain how you scuffed up plus where and how much marine silicone you added please?
@WannaFishAllDay20 күн бұрын
I used 60 grit sandpaper and lightly sanded under the base plate on the hatch lid. I just used a small bead on the sticker adhesive area to give it a little extra hold. Seems to be working great.

It’s hit or miss depending on how knowledgable your MVC is but just make sure you have your paperwork in order…. Bill of sale/purchase receipt and MSO. I usually go to the Newton MVC bc they’re pretty familiar with kayaks.

Have a similar kayak and have been loading it backwards and tying down pretty much the same. Any advantage to loading it front end first?
@WannaFishAllDay23 күн бұрын
Hmmm. Never tried it backwards but if it works, I don’t see anything wrong with that. I put my cart in the far corner of the truck bed so I wouldnt have the space if I put the kayak in backwards.
@WoJoMoZilla21 күн бұрын
@@WannaFishAllDay appreciate the response ... I'm new to the sport and just making sure I get as much and tell as possible and make good decisions. My cart fits either way but I may try forward next time. Thanks again

Anytime. My kayak also has built-in handles on the stern so just made sense for me to put the nose in first. Not sure if I’ve seen anyone put the kayak in backwards.

Would you recommend the autopilot over the sportsman 106 with the mini kota motor? Those are the two I’m between right now and didn’t know if the extra money is worth it.
@WannaFishAllDay27 күн бұрын
I think the spot lock feature on the AutoPilot is worth the extra money but it really depends on how you fish. I also think having a trolling motor is amazing!

I bought a used AP120 and it came with a Renolagy 100 battery. Was 600 new but it quits with a full charge after an hour. I am not keen on paddling 5 miles against the wind and tide to get home. Luckily I knew to stay close to the launch. I go out LONG days. I’d peddle my Hobie for 10 hours sometimes. I’m gonna order one of these, maybe 2.

Yes you can but will need a network hub if you are gonna use two 93sv’s. I ended up switching one to a 106sv (has 2 network ports) so I was able to avoid using the network hub. I believe Garmin sells one called GMS 10.
