The best way to describe it is the Ka-bar is a combat knife not a survival knife. It could work as a survival knife ,but not as well as knives that are specifically made for survival

i agree.. i think the skeletool is the best multitool... i have ordered a pair and waiting for it to arrive.. i'll probably be getting it tomorrow.. i didnt know about the bit that might be a little lose, but i have ordered also some extra bits... i ordered 2 more with a philips on one side and a flathead on the other. so if i do lose one... i can always replace it. also i was thinking of modifying mine and cutting the carabiner off... i think it will fit into my watch pocket better... since it makes it the same size almost as the SOG powerpint.

I misspoke in the video. The handle is actually MICARTA. I was confused because the knife comes with either G10 or Micarta depending on the color. Also, I didn't mention it in the video, but all the screws are T8.

For the price and just basic camp use it would work for me and I would rotate the sheath.

Take the spark wheel off dead Bids you get the same blunts for Zippos, beats how expensive they are. Bids have trouble in the cold and are disposable. Both have pros and cons, right tool for the job.

I found a scout carry leather sheath on Amazon that fits the SRK perfectly comes in both black and brown. I think it was like 26 bucks but worth every penny knife deserves to not be beaten up by the sheath. I really wish cold steel would do something about their sheaths.

A few things i would add is ive chopped up load of logs up with nato shovel so its no problem, and its move vertical you could use it as a seat , a grappling hook or anchor to clear away bard wire, the one issues with it apart from being heavyer is : it gets jammed up with sand and dirt on the beach, the Russian shovel you have might be sharpee than the real Russian on tho , and won't protect your hannds in combat.
