How are the maintenance costs on those electric bikes. I had my control cables rust through when I was homeless and it's been prohibitively expensive to get them fixed, presumable with ones that will only rust through as quickly as the first ones. Are electric bikes more reliable if one is stuck out in the weather? I have the ability to charge batteries and such but not the kind of shelter to prevent rusting of components.

This is "how to use an ebike's pedal assist and throttle". I was looking for "how an ebike's pedal assist and throttle work". There is a big difference
@skypilotace4 ай бұрын
Great explanation. I spent hours trying to find a simple video to explain throttle and pedal assist, and it was almost impossible to find. It's as if the eBike industry doesn't want you to know how their systems work. I am grateful that I stumbled onto your channel. Now I just need to find another video to show me how to test both the controller MOSFETS and the hub motor with a multimeter, to see if they are working properly. These companies really do not like DIY'ers.

I live in Northern Virginia. A few days ago, I met an 80-year-old guy riding one of your bikes. I took a picture, Googled it, and found the site. I looked at the bikes, and only two sparked my interest. I currently have a Cyrusher (Ovia) step through an e-bike. It has 20-inch FAT tires, which I genuinely like. I will be 80 years old on June 5, 2024, and I prefer fat tires because I'm only 5-8, I love it when I can rest my feet on the ground, and I do that with my e-bike now. However, I am fascinated with what you sell. Can you make the Omega with twenty-inch FAT wheels?

Don't fall for the trap 🪤 !!! I spent $1200- at full power it dies 3 miles in on way to work. Had to pedal the rest of the 5 miles and hurt my hip ]:< If I wanted to blow $1,200 like it didn't mean much to me or my family, I'd gone to the strip club and threw it at something think and fine !! Shouldn’t it say when making turns to lean in the OPPOSITE direction of the turn not the same direction of the turn? And shouldn’t it instruct you to lock the parking brake BEFORE you get off the bike, not afterwards?
@Al-thecarhistorian7 ай бұрын
No, the instructions are correct. When turning left, lean left. When turning right, lean right. I have found, after many years of trike riding, SLOWING DOWN before you turn is essential and eliminates most tipping problems. In addition, never cross an uneven surface at an angle. Always make sure both rear wheels cross the uneven surface at the same time. For example, when entering a driveway or parking lot from the street, slow down then enter the drive at a 90 degree angle to the street, so that both rear wheels go over the bump at the same moment. Yes, lock the parking brake BEFORE dismounting the trike.

Totol noob question so appologise if it sounds dumb What is it like riding a bike with pedal assist. Do you still get to the point where your legs hurt or will pedal assist eliminate that. Just changed my job and started riding there instead of using a car but there's some big hills and if I'm honest it's killing me my legs are burning still when i wake after my sleep. Thanks
@YM-NY Жыл бұрын
Not a noob question. You can increase the level of per day assist to the point where the motor is doing most of the work or just use the throttle that EVELO bikes come with to eliminate pedaling altogether.

Thanks! I was looking for a video showing how throttle worked without pedaling on mid drive. 👍🏻

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

I prefer 24" to 26" wheels, folding, and 750w or stronger mid-drive motor with throttle and torque sensors and a battery that can climb a 35% grade an equivalent of three blocks with battery power of at least 50% left once reaching the top. Also I am eagerly awaiting the 4X more power batteries to arrive on the market.

I thought I'd put my comment on this video for unboxing the Evelo Atlas so more people can benefit from my experience as new owners of the bike. Background: I am based in Kenya and since Evelo do not sell bikes outside the US, I had to use an agent to buy the bike and ship it to me. I literally had it shipped because Air freight does not carry batteries internationally. My order was for the stock bike + throttle, rack and extra battery. Unboxing: After several months of waiting for the bike due to supply chain delays in 2022, the bike was shipped out and I received it mid January 2023. On arrival I checked out this video to see how to assemble the kit which was very well packaged. I'm quite handy with a tool kit but it still took me a good hour and 30 minutes to put it together. The front of the bike was easy enough to assemble except there were no instructions on how to get the throttle on and I had to write to Evelo for instructions which came back quickly and with that the throttle was easy to put on. The rack was problematic because it did not fit and when I sent photo evidence to Evelo they immediately owned the problem and ordered a replacement for me. While checking out the extra battery I noticed whenever I hooked it up the bike would not switch on. I again wrote to Evelo and they told me it looked like a battery management system problem. So they ordered me a new battery. Thing is because of the shipping shenanigans I now have to wait for another 90 days before the new rack and battery get to me. Riding: So for the time being I'm riding the bike with just the main battery and throttle But this is sheer joy. I'm not too badly off health wise for a 62 year old, 5 foot 6 and slim build. I spend most of my ride time on assist level 0 or 1. My local routes are moderately hilly with the occasional monster which is why I wanted an ebike. Going up the hills in assist 1 with suitable gearing is easy for me. Coming down hills I throw it into 0 and cruise down. I have tried it in assist 2 to 5 to see what's under the hood, and it's awesome. The throttle response is instantaneous and gets you away from careless traffic and pedestrians with ease. The bike has both torque and cadence sensors and is very responsive to ypur peddling from standstill and at speed. The looks and enquiries I get as I ride or slow down are total vindication I made the right choice. I'm riding daily now where I was riding once a week or less before. On the main battery with my riding style I am absolutely getting the Evelo claimed 60 miles on a full charge and the battery takes 4 or 5 hours to top up. The bike is extremely solid an well built but I was disappointed by the rack thst didn't fit and extra battery that didn't work. For fullness of account there were also missing screws on the connector on the bike for the extra battery making it loose. I will have to find the correct size but this is a minor inconvenience I will update this when the new rack and distance extending extra battery arrive in 90 days but if you are thinking of getting an ebike this Atlas I an excellent choice

Somehow I missed your comment earlier. Thanks so much for this account! From what I've seen on reddit, this is not a wildly popular model. It's the closest to my need, though, here we are, me looking at my not-yet-assembled Atlas. More soon...

Hi. First, thank you very much for the video, it is very helpful. I would like to ask what is the difference between bikes with 5 PAS modes and a single PAS mode. Is it a disadvantage to have a single PAS mode, especially for the battery efficiency? Appreciate for your answer. Thanks

Just purchased an Omega for my wife. She has a nice Blix bike but she is riding a lot (4K miles in > 2 years) and has range anxiety with her current bikes 35-40 mile max range. Our favorite ride is 40 miles and she has run out of battery several times and I end up pedaling it home unpowered :-( .The dual battery Omega will ensure that never happens and with the maintenance free drivetrain and no gears to worry about, it is perfect for her recreational riding. The current sale price makes it a no-brainer.
