I believe whirlpool calls them a “heat anticipator” on the 3387134 155° operating thermostat. It’s a little heater that tricks the thermostat. I could be wrong though I believe I heard one of the old timers say that one time

@LAapplianceguy is correct. When using a setting lower than the highest heat setting, power is applied to the resistor and causes it to heat up. When the resistor heats up the thermostat is “tricked” into cycling at a lower temperature allowing the dryer to have Medium and Low heat settings.

As you noted at end of the video, the blue shipping film on the console should be removed at installation of the machine. The adhesive ages with time, becomes difficult to remove and can potentially damage the console paint/finish if removed then.

Nice repair. I’ve seen the Samsung heating element housing have just one screw holding it in place and other models have two screws. 😊

Nice repair. I've never replaced just the motor on a timer, only the whole timer. You can rotate the control console forward to get better access to the back of the timer.

I hope the fridge continues to work well for you. You can use a magnet to simulate the door being closed so that the fans will run with the door open. With the door open slide a magnet across the area just above where the door seal would meet the cabinet. When the lights go off you’ve found the spot to leave the magnet.
