That was depressing. We came up from Sussex but perhaps we shouldn't have done. We were well off the pace. I hope we won't start to see crowd numbers starting to drop... My highlight though was meeting my all time hero, Billy Best, in the Legends Lounge. The greatest player ever to play for us in almost 60 years of watching the blues. SUEPA have put together a great montage of him on KZbin (which won't let me post a link). Watch it if you can. The reception the crowd gave him shows you how much he is still loved even after 51 years since he left. A true gentleman and very generous with his time. Thanks Pip for the coverage. I fear we'll have to rely on your reports for a while, as it's too far for us to come to watch displays like today.

This season has been a tough season so far for Southend and we aren’t picking up points where we should be like against fylde Sutton etc and if this doesn’t change and we keep going on an inconsistent run their is no chance Southend will get into the top 7 and possibly get promoted so things need to change and fast And with regards to the GK Colin I love him as a player he is a brilliant shot stopper but when it comes to kicking he is a liability and puts the team under the pump every time he kicks the ball Last but least @diversity I have voted for u so let’s bring home that gold award UTB 💙🍤

I watched the game from usual seat in the east stand today with mounting horror ! Colin is a great goal stopper, but his distribution is awful, He puts the team under pressure with his passing and silly throw outs. Kevin must tell him to buck his ideas up. Bonne hardly touched the ball all game, GSM is doing it all himself......... Gateshead showed why they are where they are in the table..... we have to improve !!!!

Don't know what the ref was looking at on that play....NOT EVEN CLOSE to be a penalty! Clearly got the ball first. Anyway it is what it is,,, Move and and prep for the next game. Stay safe stay sane!

I didn't think Gateshead were exceptional today, but credit to them & their intrepid 71 fans. Just didn't click for Blues today, every loose ball seemed to fall to Gateshead, & at times we had to play the Ref as well. We go again next week, so onwards & upwards we hope! It just shows how bad we are. Gateshead players are so much better than us all over the pitch we could have easily of lost by a lot more. I had very high hopes at the beginning of the season. When you let in 6 goals in the last two home games it’s not good enough. I understand we have some injuries but so does most teams in this league. I think you need to start to look at the manger. I know a lot of the fans like him but don’t think we will ever get promoted with Kevin Maher I hope I’m wrong.

The finger has been pointed at Colin in recent times but it’s actually the back 3 have been so poor to allow for him to have no confidence in his defence. We need to bring in a new CB and revert to a 4-4-2 system and release Gus as a RM and bridge at a LM as the 5 atb system has run its course and is making the blues play its worst football in years

It’s slightly annoying that we all had to wait till the 90th minute to get some action and considering we where slight favourites going into this game I would of hoped for three points but I suppose another good point away from home like someone said earlier 4 points from 6 away games is good but I feel if we want to get into the playoff i fell that 4 points should be 8 but it is what it is onto Saturday against an inform Gateshead team UTB💙💙

Wealdstone started like they expected to get thrashed, but we didn't seem to push them at all. I thought it looked rather like a pre-season match where we weren't really bothered. Very flat and disappointing. Hoping for better against Gateshead this weekend.......please.....?

We are still very much a work in progress and we have a team and a future, which is something we may not have thought possible last year. I'm up from Sussex with the grandsons for the Gateshead game on Saturday and we're lucky enough to be in the Legends Lounge when we hope to meet Southend's greatest ever player and my all time hero Billy Best, whom I was lucky enough to see play so many times and score so many goals.
