Yeah dude, huge disappointment for me here, I have the entire Direchasm and Nethermaze and Gnarlwood collection, and NONE of them are getting any specific warscrolls, just 2 generic warscrolls for each Grand Alliance? Using universal cards? The warbands that I use and have painted, lost their flavor COMPLETELY. Huge, huge letdown. I'll stick to 1st edition.

If they dont end up making the warband rules free itll be a lot easier to print this time around. A whole deck of cards is a pain. A warscroll and unit cards is pretty easy

Still dislike the new "art"... Photos of miniatures are the least interesting part of White Dwarf and now its all over Underworlds too... 😩

Awesome battle report, and great stuff showing the cards being used I just really wish you positioned the camera on the board only, after the intro. That top-down camera has to go. It's doesn't look good at all and it's just boring as hell.

Great to have more Underworlds battle reports. Hope you continue when the new edition drops Good video and editing but a shame we never really get to see the figures.

FYI, new board has 85 hexes. The old boards hand anywhere from 80-83 depending on how one lined up the boards. So, basically identical in area.

GW did a good job showing off the game system. It remains Underworlds, just streamlined. Most changes were improvements (e.g. Crits, variable Fighter bounty and Upgrade costs), some were neutral (e.g. 1 die roll-offs and boards) and a couple are still a point of concern (e.g. Underdog). The starter does come across as simple, no doubt because it is designed for newbs. However, the lack of faction flavor remains a huge negative for me.

The new vespid models are gorgeous, I really do hope they expand the vespid line, in the way that they did the kroots, and port it over to 40k main.

Ive been playing for 1 month only so the new edition feels like a punch to the gut

I’m sad a lot of different things are going away and changing. The deck thing is pretty necessary given the scale of the game and amount of teams, but it still sucks. Main things for me is that less cards and less art should decrease production costs, a bit for the box sets but definitely a lot more for the individual teams, so if that savings gets passed to the consumer then I’ll be more happy with these changes. Also I hope there’s an option to use old boards and maybe the new decks can be print and play so people don’t need the starter set. The biggest decision point for me is what is on the those faction rules cards, will they actually provide flavor and unique abilities to your characters, or will they just be bland, because many things being replaced are moving to this card.

I stopped after Nightvault, does it make sense to return with this set? It seems incompatible with the first two.

As a new player to Underworlds, I'm happy to see a new edition. I understand than veteran players will lose their boards/decks, but as a new player, these parts were difficult to obtain, especially for older warbands. Of which, these older warbands are also hard to find. I picked up Ylthari's Guardians and Thunderik's Profiteers that I found on eBay, but it only came with models, so I also had to try and find the decks, which I couldn't for a reasonable price, so ended up printing them off and putting into sleeves with Magic cards backing them. It really put me off the game with how much effort it was just to get the team I wanted to play. The new edition looks great for newer players. Being limited to 4 decks, and just needing the models and a warscroll for your team-specific pieces will be much easier to get into the game. Thinking into the future too, as long as all the decks and warbands are always available, it will be easy for any new players to jump on mid-edition too, even if they add more deck options in future. I could also see them doing a rotating format where decks drop out of the format after so many years to keep the card pool fresher.

Time to get back in to underworlds

Very nice video man. The format and explanations are real concise and clear. Only feedback I can offer is that the volume on the edits are a bit higher than your speaking volume so I kept having to turn the video up and down (which is a little bit annoying if you're watching while eating or working) But otherwise I really appreciate the breakdown of the new rules!

At first a was angry about it, I have 9 team that would be kick out next year. But, finally I don't really care. I'm honest with myself, I don't have the skills or the time to go at those big events. So to me, this change nothing for us, keep playing what you like with your friends or at small events near your home.

To be honest the only real reason I haven’t gotten into Underworlds or Necromunda is because they don’t appear to integrate with AoS or 40K. Or at least it doesn’t seem it from my perspective (an idiot in a hurry)

Dam, I love the objective markers! The only downside is that the ones I’ve got are annoyingly smaller than the objectives…. 1.75-ish inch radius I think
