Great analyses. Love the stream lined choices they made. I hate that the used pictures on the cards. Looks cheap and tacky to me. loved the illustrations 😥

I agree, illustrated was good but sucks they don't do it anymore.

GW did a good job showing off the game system. It remains Underworlds, just streamlined. Most changes were improvements (e.g. Crits, variable Fighter bounty and Upgrade costs), some were neutral (e.g. 1 die roll-offs and boards) and a couple are still a point of concern (e.g. Underdog). The starter does come across as simple, no doubt because it is designed for newbs. However, the lack of faction flavor remains a huge negative for me.

Which could come later so I'm taking my time to see it. But your are correct not all are major but the underdog one I was thinking how you could get bricked hands with out underdog. But they seemed to resolve it with being able to discard and get more cards with focus. But also with out restrictions you be more cautious to how underdog works and could also been an add it to add a layer of mechanics so who knows how it goes. It looks like the cards will have to carry the game for some of these questions.

FYI, new board has 85 hexes. The old boards hand anywhere from 80-83 depending on how one lined up the boards. So, basically identical in area.

Weird, Nick in the game said it had more hexs like 2 or more lol.

Yeah - slightly more space, and no unused corners corners. Whether that actually makes a difference remains to be seen. I'm kind of hoping for terrain that has a game effect.

@@hobbyhunterz Actually, the difference is a bit higher (by 2) when compared to the long board arrangement in WU'17.

@hvn7erx I'd interpret it as not having choke points or restrictive setups. Which is a shame as they make for variety and interesting tactical problems. With any luck that will be introduced later, with different boards, creative deck themes or as I said above, simple scenery.
