the reason why the gear bay doors are open is because the airbus a332 (A330-200) have a hydraulic failure or leak thats why the gear doors are opened while landing

Lots of pointless go arounds! I landed in Gatwick 3 weeks ago with worse conditions than anything seen here and we didn’t go around 😂😂. Wind was crazy with crosswinds almost right on the limit I guess easyJet pilots are just better

British Airways is extremely strict about passenger behavior and responses to commands given by the flight crew. Flight crews are trained not to challenge passengers if they refuse commands, argue with flight attendants or exhibit any kind of negative aggressive behaviors. They will simply stop the plane, go back to the gate, remove you from the flight and proceed accordingly. It happens all the time. BA is pretty open about the fact that passenger behavior costs them on average $10 million a year in extra fuel, delayed flights, airport fees and employee compensation making them repeatedly the most expensive airline in the world.

I was on a flight once that did five go-arounds in a storm in the dark, 2 of them touch and go, the cheer when we finally got stopped was like someone won the world cup. :) I was fine after I managed to pry my fingernails out of the arm rests.

Can anyone say what the sound is at 0:21 as the first plane starts to slow down? Presumably brakes, or something to do with braking, but what exactly causes the noise?
@acrabb10 күн бұрын
I'd say main gear tyres locking, and the anti-skid activating. You can see a puff of smoke from the main tyres when they are half way down the white stripe, 0.85 seconds before you hear the sound, indicating the camera was about 290 metres away. Entering the white stripe the 320 was covering its own length (37.6 m) in 0.8 seconds, so it was travelling at 170 km/h or around 92 knots. At this point you see the reversers start to open, and the tyre smoke comes 0.75 s later. The plane stopped in 8.5 s which is 0.56 g, above the 0.47 g maximum emergency braking of an average passenger car on a dry surface with good tyres. A violent stop. So, this was a big one!

As a non-pilot, I look at so many of these and think, “damn, they were %90 of the way there. Why not just hit the spoilers, pin that thing to the runway, and keep that sucker on the ground?!” Probably why I’m not a pilot I guess.
@RDLC-pilot14 күн бұрын
Pilots often leave the gear down, if the brake temperatures get too high during taxi. Thus cooling the brakes before hiding hot brakes in the wheel wells.

Can anyone determine the reason of the first 787-9 go around? Looked pefectly stable to me. High speed cant slow the aircraft down? To be honest 'Ive never seen video like this. So many go around when the approach was stable and the landing was little bit long but still within allowed limits. I'm having troubles to understand reason for go around especially with all the aircfraft which already touched down stable with little big long landing. Windshear warning on final so they had to do go around although continuing with that landing was perfectly safe?
@isabelenau393417 күн бұрын
What are the reasons for these go arounds, apart from strong winds?
@elmirtheflight17 күн бұрын
@@isabelenau3934 Sometimes it’s because the previous plane didn’t get out of the runway on time. This is due to Heathrow’s short ATC clearance during landing.
