Man, you’ve got some great points here…the writing is so fucking inconsistent. At times, it is subtle, genuis, even. And then there is Ghost’s dialogue… I swear I kept thinking throughout my playthrough that I wish he would just shut the fuck up. I think the main issue is that for many years players kept begging Bungie for more in-game storytelling and less wall-of text lorebooks. And they understood that as “let’s have Ghost and other NPCs overexplain simple things” like remember the whole Radial Mast thing in Lightfall? Yeah, me neither…
