Syd tracks just keeps all of us guessing/assuming/ trying to understand or work out the meanings of his abstract lirics..no one has wondered if this track is for IGGY the ESKIMO after she left him.."eskimo chains that tattooed my brain" ? maybe .. happy birthday SYD xxx

There are bits and pieces in this track that resurface all the way through their careers, for instance a big chunk of Echoes is here as in The Wall and it resurfaces in both Gilmour and Waters solo efforts. I once read an Adrian Belew (King Crimson) interview where he remarked that the Beatles wrote "The Book" on how rock and roll songs come to be, it makes me think, now as an analogy, at the beautiful weaving machine Syd has built.

When I woke up today And you weren't there to play Then I wanted to be with you When you showed me your eyes Whispered low of the skies Then I wanted to stay with you Inside me I feel alone and unreal And the way you kiss will always be A very special thing to me When I lay still at night Seeing stars high and light Then I wanted to be with you When the rooftops shone dark All alone saw a spark Spark of love just to stay with you Inside me I feel alone and unreal And the way you kiss will always be A very special thing to me If I mention your name Turn around on a chain Then the sky opens out for you When we grew very tall When I saw you so small Then I wanted to stay with you Inside me I feel alone and unreal And the way you kiss will always be A very special thing to me...

The healthy Syd Barrett was very creative. He wrote over 52 songs. When he was kicked out of Pink Floyd, unfortunately he didn't learn anything from it!!! Even though he didn't take LSD anymore, he continued to take drugs...!! His second solo album Barrett is better than Pink Floyd albums 2, 3 and 4. Nobody knows exactly how Syd lived from 1975 to 2006??? The last documentary didn't show anything new!! How long did Syd battle his drug addiction?? Was Syd in a psychiatric hospital??? Could he or did he not want to play music anymore?? Why did he live in such isolation?? Okay, he painted a few pictures and then set them on fire in the garden. His neighbor said: Syd often screamed at night. He was obviously tormented by his demons. A sad story. Syd had the illness of catatonia. I don't know if he ever found redemption or peace for his soul?? He lived in an inner prison.

Syd Barrett was a talented, gifted young man. He wrote more than 52 songs. Unfortunately, he had already taken drugs before his time with Pink Floyd. At 22, Syd was a sick person. His sister Rosemary Breen once said: He had to learn to cope with his brain damage. The sick Syd failed as a painter and musician. He painted pictures and then burned them in the garden. Nobody knows exactly how Syd lived from 2975 to 2006 ??? I am interested in how the person Syd Barrett lived with his illness ??? A sad story.

Katatonie.

The title is a reference to the fact that The Beatles could find a "guy who not only looked like Paul. He also had the same musical abilities, if not, a better musician, vocalist and songwriter. Not to mention, he looks nearly identical." That's one in a million. Syd and Floyd met The Beatles in 1967, when the two bands were working on each of their respective albums. Syd and Rick noticed something odly different about Paul. They were, like everyone else recording at the studio while The Beatles were there, told not to say anything, as it would 'cause them trouble. But just like The Who singing 'Won't Get Fooled Again', Pink Floyd left a lot of clues on their albums as well. What the music industry (The Machine) did to Paul in 1966 is uacceptable. Syd didn't want to live in this machine, but he was a pop-idol after they released 'Emily'. He turned to drugs to get far out, hoping the business realised they couldn't use him anymore. He didn't want to end as Paul.

Syd clearly was on top of it at this time (ignoring the poor quality of the recording). So sad that he had gotten it back together, and then fell apart again on the American tour. No adults in the room.

The Piper........

👍🏾 The healthy Syd Barett was very creative!! Unfortunately Syd had the wrong friends. He hung out with junkies too much.. 1965 founded and made Pink Floyd famous!!! In 1968 Syd was kicked out!!! Unfortunately Syd didn't learn anything from that!!! Syd continued to take drugs on his 2 solo albums... A real tragedy for Syd and his family... He was on the verge of schizophrenia... David Gilmour said: The recordings were difficult because Syd was in a bad state. Syd Barett needed therapy... Professional help from a good psychiatrist... Unfortunately Syd didn't get out of the car 🚙... Syd failed as a painter and musician... I don't know if Syd ever had therapy??? Unfortunately there are no more books in German...

A sad story. Syd Barett was a talented, gifted young man. He founded Pink Floyd at the age of 19. He was kicked out at the age of 22!! When he was recording his two solo albums, Syd was on the verge of schizophrenia!!! Drug addiction is an illness... Syd had the wrong friends... Unfortunately, he continued to take drugs... At 24, Syd was a sick person... Psychiatry wasn't ready back then... Syd didn't want to go to the psychiatrist and didn't get out of the car 🚙... Nick Mason once said: We ignored the problem!!! One of the Barrett family was a doctor!!! He said: Everything is fine. Nothing is fine... Very sad... I'm interested in how Syd lived with his illness ??? Unfortunately, there are no more books in German...
