Only $10.99 a yard for outdoor fabric? You found a great deal. I couldn't find a good sale so looked on FB Marketplace. Found someone selling 38 yards of JoAnn's $22 a yard fabric for $100! I only needed 4 yards so now a friend is getting new covers also. You never know where you can find a good deal.

Marketplace is great! I think finding the good deal is part of the fun. I just bought 20 more yards to redo these orange ones and make some pillows, I paid like $6.99 or $7.99 a yard. I decided that I just didn’t like the fabric on these orange ones. It held a little water which had never happened before. I went and found a different outside fabric, so I’ll be making more for this set of furniture over the winter to have them ready for early spring. I work full time, so no time for being persnickety with a detailed pattern, just enough time to enjoy the process. 😊❤ My mom had 7 kids. I am just so confused on how to measure the width. In your video you measure your cushion 25inches and say the width of the fabric needs to be 25in. What about a seam allowance? Then later you measure 29 inches when cutting the fabric. Can you please explain that.
@sewandquiltwithaprilsawtelleАй бұрын
@@stefanies.9051 yes I’m sorry for the confusion. I will watch the video later today and try and help fix it. So sorry 😞
@sewandquiltwithaprilsawtelleАй бұрын
Hi Stephanie So I see that it was very confusing. When I showed the 25 inches, that was for the back of the chair Cushing. We don't need to allow for the seam allowance because it needs to be smaller then the pillow so it will scrunch up around the pillow like a glove, so basically the seam allowance was accounted for. The 29 inches I spoke of was the width of the bottom Cushing. I hope to do another video in the near future that Is a bit more clear. Sorry for any confusing.
@stefanies.9051Ай бұрын
Thank you so much for replying so quickly! I appreciate it!
@stefanies.9051Ай бұрын
I have one more question about measuring the width. In the video you seam to measure the width plus the thickness on one side and then again the thickness on the other side. Won't this make the cover too thick? Would it make sense to only measure half the thickness+width+half the thickness? So that the seam runs along the midpoint of the thickness. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you so much. Just one question. Have you ever used linen in a quilt? And, seeing that it’s so soft, did you stabilise it to control the softness and reduce the fray? Thank you. If you haven’t, what was your reason?
@sewandquiltwithaprilsawtelleАй бұрын
Hi Hazel I have used an occasional piece here and there and I did not stabilize it just because it would have only been just a piece or two from something I recycled. I have never made a quilt of just linen. I probably wouldn’t make one myself, just because I have never really had enough linen to do a whole quilt, and it just would be more flimsy for me to work with, and I know me….. lol…… I’d get frustrated lol….I think though if I did, I would stabilize it. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching! 😊🧵🪡❤️🌼🌺

@@sewandquiltwithaprilsawtelle thank you so much for your response. I am hand piecing a memory story bed quilt and I bought a few pieces of linen because the colours were so beautiful. The irregular large house blocks and road are 50/50 linen and cotton, and I’m nearly done with the large centrepiece. I started having doubts. I have been busy now two months. Fortunately I stabilised every piece of linen I used. Thank you very much.

I've been using gift bags more often. We get give them, we give them away. I've found there's enough in circulation that I only buy one every now and then. The kids big Christmas presents get given in an extra large bag with tissue paper on top and the top taped shut as best I can. I grab the bags back and reuse them next year. Like with like should definitely be your organisation system. It can take a while to tame the chaos. If you have room having stuff out if sight and out of mind might not work for you. I think someone else suggested vertical storage might work better. I can recommend the Clutterbug quiz to find your organisation style, if you dont already know. Its a real eye opener. And you an see family memebers styles too, helps to understand each other. You're doing really well.
