Iwould love to be able to pack as little as you do but it seems like nearly everyone who does these videos forgets about those of us in the north cruising to get away from the icy conditions. LOL. You mentioned that you were surprised at how much some people pack. Are you forgetting about us from the northern cold states? There is NO way you’re fitting some warmer clothing in there as well as the rest of the items you packed. For me I’m going on a 7 day Caribbean cruise in January when it’s about 15 degrees. I need warmer clothing! Lol
@roses4adventure217Ай бұрын
I live in Michigan so come from very cold weather, I usually pack leggings and wear a sweatshirt on the plane, sometimes it means wearing something twice but I only wear it to fly and then take it right off once we get to our port city where the climate is much warmer. My biggest take away from experience is that you do not need multiple outfits for every day because you're in beachwear most of the time throughout the day and also picking versitile pieces, for example being able to wear the same skirt or pants to multiple dinners and then just having a few different options for tops.

If the Red Shirts take your cruise card how do you show your card when passing through security to get back to the port?
@roses4adventure217Ай бұрын
The people at the gate were very understanding and just let us through probably aince we were on one of the Red Shirt golf carts. Plus they only took one of our cards so we still had 3 others. Then they give it back to you when you return the golf cart.

Don’t know if you’ve done it before, but how about a video about packing in a carry-on for cold weather, like Iceland? Our next cruise is to Iceland and Greenland. A few things to note.. Norwegian does not allow door decorations, and Disney does not allow the hiding of ducks on board. Please check with your cruise line to see what is, and isn’t, allowed. Royal Caribbean just recently banned any adapter/power bar/extension cord that has regular plugs on it. Adapters with just USB ports are allowed, however. HAL allows extension cords (my bestie and I needed it for our CPAPs), or at least they did not take ours away when we were on board. And our Norwegian agent actually told us to bring one on our next cruise with them for the CPAPs. Again, each cruise line is different, check ahead.

Is getting to Mahauhal from the cruise port in a golf cart easy? The traffic looks kind of scary. Is it easy to take a taxi?
@roses4adventure2173 ай бұрын
You actually don't need a taxi at all, it is just a walk through the cruise port...which is a bit confusing to get through and they do make you pass every shop in the place. The Golf cart rental is at the exit of the cruise port.

Starting 1JUL24 all of the Cruise lines in the US will have all of coasts like taxes and fees will be included in the fare. Booking with a good Travel Advisor can take a lot of stress off you. They will help you pick the right cruise, budget, and plan your whole trip. Like booking a pre-cruise hotel, transfers, and even Travel Insurance which will be your medical insurance while onboard as well as pay for a lot of other things. #travelboxinternational @travelboxinternational

Is MSC a high end cruise?
@roses4adventure2176 ай бұрын
It can be, some of their newer ships are quite something! They also don't appeal as much to families as they dont tend to have as much for kids. MSC Cruises is known for its modern fleet, European flair, and atmosphere, catering to a wide range of passengers. While it may not be classified in the same luxury tier as lines like Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, or Seabourn, it does offer a variety of options to suit different budgets and preferences, including some upscale experiences.

Those ear patches are worse than seasickness, never again 😂
@roses4adventure2176 ай бұрын
😂😂 but might have been one of the funniest things to witness second-hand. Also side note, if you take the patches off because you dont like the side effects, wash behind your ears where the patch was with soap! It is a transdermal patch so the medication from the patch will continue to absorb into your skin even after you remove it!!

A cheaper hack is to be the light on in the bathroom and close the door to a crack of light and that's better/cheaper than a nightlight.
@roses4adventure2176 ай бұрын
Agreed but we dont like the brightness of the light in the bathroom. Some of the older ships only have the option for full light with no dimmer or night light option so it is super bright when you have to get up in the night to go to the bathroom.

I believe you gave incorrect information regarding mobility scooters and Carnival. Carnval allows larger scooters, provided they have a fully accessible cabin. They have not banned electric wheelchairs. They are enforcing a rule that has been a rule for as long as i have been cruising. A fully accessible cabin can accommodate most mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs as they are 32" wide doorways. As someone reporting information. It would be a shame for someone to watch your video and then think they or a loved one cannot cruise. Have a fabulous day.
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
Correct there are a select few handicap accessable rooms but standard staterooms are not wide enough to accommodate large power wheelchairs. Royal caribbean states it has to be less than 23 inches, NCL states less than 22inches, and carnival states it just be able to fit through a 22in door. There are loads of rental companies that can be rented from if a smalled scooter than someone normally uses needs to be rented for the week.
@ruthwoody99937 ай бұрын
Ummmm the doorways are 22 inches wide and scooters must be no bigger than 22 inches wide. If you are going to put this in your blog, I suggest you fact check yourself. Also Carnival is not above the ADA, and must follow their rules.
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
The standard doorway is 24 inches but yes, some may be smaller on certain ships or with older ships. This is why I suggested always checking these things with your specific cruise line and cruise ship as I could not possibly know all information on every single ship currently in service.
