Wow! Awesome ideas! I just got back a few weeks ago from a week-long cruise and boy did I overpack. 😵💫

I pack in a carry on and still feel like I overpack! There are so many items I just never use, but trying to get it dialed in!

What about a week on Alaska? I’d like to see that in a carry on and backpack lol. It stresses me thinking about it. But also I have never flown and will for the first time in Sept to Seattle for our Alaska cruise. I’d love to not check bags but again not sure if I can do it/.

Oooh I've never been on an Alaskan cruise! But they sound amazing!

I don't recall seeing shorts & tops for during the day nor undergarments or nightwear/slippers. Where are passports, copies of travel insurance, dining reservations for specialty dining, excursion receipts, etc.?
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
3 pairs of athletic style shorts and 10 different tops went into the second packing cube and the jean shorts went into my backpack although I do basically live in my swimsuit when cruising. Undergarments went into the packing cube with my swimwear, but yes I did not pack any sleepwear so if that is something you like to have it could fit in the cube with tops and shorts. Unfortunately I forgot to mention a passport, definitely don't forget that! My husband is the one who carries that so I completely forgot to mention! And I still had loads of room in my backpack to fit other essentials.

Don’t know if you’ve done it before, but how about a video about packing in a carry-on for cold weather, like Iceland? Our next cruise is to Iceland and Greenland. A few things to note.. Norwegian does not allow door decorations, and Disney does not allow the hiding of ducks on board. Please check with your cruise line to see what is, and isn’t, allowed. Royal Caribbean just recently banned any adapter/power bar/extension cord that has regular plugs on it. Adapters with just USB ports are allowed, however. HAL allows extension cords (my bestie and I needed it for our CPAPs), or at least they did not take ours away when we were on board. And our Norwegian agent actually told us to bring one on our next cruise with them for the CPAPs. Again, each cruise line is different, check ahead.

Where do you pack the cruise ducks? Going on a cruise next week and mine take up quite a bit of space.
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
I stuff them in whereever there is a little space! So about 10-20 in my carry on and I had tons of room in my backpack.

Are those tags for luggage pretty standard size for all cruise lines?
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
It looks like it would fit Royal Caribbean and celebrity. Other cruise lines seem to have more of a square shaped tag.
@nnajj017 ай бұрын
Great idea, definitely not for me. My bathing suits and bras would fill that up.
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
Fair enough!
@Thatlakelife7 ай бұрын
Me too!!! DDD here so all my bras and bathing suits have large molded cups and take up lots of room no matter what I try! But I’m a total overpacker anyway. I like to have tons of what if items. It’s like my safety blanket 😊.
@Thatlakelife7 ай бұрын
Question: why did you pack your luggage tags? Don’t you need those ON your suitcase?
@roses4adventure2177 ай бұрын
We have to fly to our cruise port so don't need them on for the flight portion. We will get them out when we get to our cruise port city. But if you are fortunate enough to live somewhere where you can get there without flying definitely go ahead and put those on!
@julieb78823 ай бұрын
If you're flying to the cruise port having the ship tags in for your flight can confuse the luggage handling and result in lost or misdirected luggage.

The video is fine if you are a female but you’ll need to show a man packing for a cruise too so we can see how they pack for a cruise that’s what we need to see thank you very much

Iwould love to be able to pack as little as you do but it seems like nearly everyone who does these videos forgets about those of us in the north cruising to get away from the icy conditions. LOL. You mentioned that you were surprised at how much some people pack. Are you forgetting about us from the northern cold states? There is NO way you’re fitting some warmer clothing in there as well as the rest of the items you packed. For me I’m going on a 7 day Caribbean cruise in January when it’s about 15 degrees. I need warmer clothing! Lol

I live in Michigan so come from very cold weather, I usually pack leggings and wear a sweatshirt on the plane, sometimes it means wearing something twice but I only wear it to fly and then take it right off once we get to our port city where the climate is much warmer. My biggest take away from experience is that you do not need multiple outfits for every day because you're in beachwear most of the time throughout the day and also picking versitile pieces, for example being able to wear the same skirt or pants to multiple dinners and then just having a few different options for tops.
